Dear Parents:
Our library contains some very useful resources for parents and some wonderful kid’s books for their children. Both children who are deaf and hard-of-hearing and children with speech and language difficulties benefit tremendously when their parents read and look at books with them. We hope you will make good use of our library during your time with us.
- Kids books – maximum of 3 books at a time
- Adult book – maximum of 1 book at a time
- DVD Videos – maximum of 1 DVD at a time
The above resources can be borrowed for 4 weeks for local families. Outreach Families have 6 weeks to allow for shipping back and forth. Outreach families are encouraged to have their local community service providers assist them in returning resources. Once materials are returned, additional items can be loaned.
ASL iPads:
In addition to the above resources, we also have a few ASL iPads available to loan. These special iPads are equipped with a wide range of ASL stories and exercises installed on them, designed to help children and families learn ASL together through interactive storytelling experiences. This resource should be used with parental supervision at all times.
This resource is available to be loaned to families, whether local or outreach, for a maximum of 3 weeks. We will make delivery and collection arrangements for outreach families.
All ASL iPad loan requests must be made through your BC Family Hearing Resource Centre Sign Language Consultant or Early Interventionist. If you do not currently receive services directly from the BC Family Hearing Resource Society, you must make your request in person at the BC Family Hearing Resource Centre in Surrey. Furthermore, please be advised that you may lose your ASL iPad loan privileges due to late returns, as these devices are very limited in quantity.

We have a limited budget for our Library. Therefore, we ask you to read and sign this agreement prior to borrowing library materials:
I agree to pay for any damages that may occur to books, DVDs, or iPads that I may borrow from the library. (eg. torn or missing pages, writing on the books, etc.).
