This is a wonderful, offbeat variation on the saloon situation comedy. Nuclear bombs have destroyed much of the U.S. and various denizens of this working-class bar are trying to decide what to do. Enter a traveling salesman who comes to offer the bartender immortality if he will write a new Bible (and get it right this time).
Cast size - 5m, 2f
SHEP- Casual, even-tempered guy. A little sarcastic at times, a bit shy around the ladies, but always hopeful.
ROY- He is a mechanic who works hard for a living, he is a bit scruffy looking, a simple soul, who is often overlooked by others.
WILLY- Wired and a little crazy, he has a score to settle with lots of people and plans to do so.
BULLARD- A salesman, a little full of himself, passing through town, always looking for a little 'action'.
SHIRLEY- Bartender and a former girlfriend of the owner. A bit rough around the edges, and ready to have a go with Shep.
VIRGINIA- Attractive, usually very self-confident, but can at times be a little frazzled. She is a no-nonsense girl.
JOE- Relaxed, casual, uninterested in the surroundings, a bit of underlying intensity. See Less
