CALLING ALL TALENTED PERFORMERS!
We invite you to participate in this fun-filled, family-friendly event in which you can showcase your talent. Pre-registration is required (form below). All acts will be screened so, please, select material that is appropriate for all ages. All performers are required to provide their own props and music if applicable in appropriate format. Rehearsal on Friday prior to the show. Registration will be available on site.
GENERAL INFORMATION
• This is not a competition. There are no prizes or awards, just good clean fun.
• Performance times are limited to a Maximum of 3 minutes to allow time for more performances.
• There are 20 time slots ONLY, so please register early either online prior to the conference or at the sign up table at during registration and check in.
TALENT SHOW GUIDELINES
Our talent show is family friendly. Therefore, out of respect for all of our viewers, please use caution in the selection of the material for your performance. The following examples not allowed: sexual or inappropriate comments or movements, inappropriate costumes, suggestive or questionable lyrics and, vulgar and explicit language.
SCREENING
All acts will be screened at the registration table when signing up at the conference. Pre registered acts must submit performance material (music, lyrics) to the AV table NO LATER than 4 pm on Thursday in order to participate. The material will be screened to be sure that it meets all requirements of the Talent Show Guidelines ie: skit appropriateness, song lyrics, backing tracks etc. All acts MUST be pre screened and approved by the Hospitality & Entertainment Committee in order to perform. NO EXCEPTIONS. The Phoenix Society/Entertainment Committee reserves the right to cancel a performance/skit at any time.
SAFETY
The Safety of all performers and viewers is extremely important to us. Therefore, the following restrictions will apply:
- No use of fire, smoke or pyrotechnics of any kind
- No use of live animals
- No use of Confetti or Silly String or Glitter
- No videotaping or flash photography
- No use of weapons or any act referring to violence or violent acts either intended or unintentional
USE OF PROPS
Props, instruments, costumes etc. for all performances are the responsibility of the performer with the exception of a professional electric Keyboard which will be available for use. Please fill out the "Props" section on the registration form regarding the use of props in your act.
***REHEARSAL*** Important****
There will be one 2-hour block of time for all acts to rehearse on stage prior to show time. All 20 acts plus alternate will be required to rehearse during this time period. Any act that does not rehearse, will be replaced with an alternate act.
The rehearsal time window at the conference is between sessions and is on a very specific time schedule. It is of the utmost importance that when you schedule a time slot that you be on time and prepared for your rehearsal.
All materials must be turned in to the AV table by Thursday at 4 pm. If materials are not received by this time, you will not be able to perform and the slot will be given to an alternate act.
Due to the time constraints, any acts that do not rehearse will not perform. NO EXCEPTIONS!
