  • Academic Requirements

Students taking their first externship for credit must take a separate academic seminar taught by a CUA faculty member to help students learn from and reflect on their placement. Most students will take the one-credit, online "Becoming a Lawyer" course. Students in a certificate program may have the option to take "Becoming a Public Policy Lawyer" or "Communications Law Practicuum." Please select your expected seminar below:
  • Students must complete 100 hours of work to earn 2 credits and 150 hours of work to earn 3 credits. It is expected that all work will be completed between the first and last day of classes and not during the reading or exam period.
