The Spirit of St. Columbkille Award is a recognition awarded by St. Columbkille Church. It is an award given to acknowledge distinguished stewardship and quiet discipleship by adults within the parish. A “quiet disciple” is someone who spends a great deal of his/her time, talents and resources to making St. Columbkille Church a better place – and doing so without fanfare or desire for praise. Two Spirit of St. Columbkille Awards will be given each year and the winners will be recognized and presented with the Spirit of St. Columbkille Award at the Ceili, which is generally held on the first Saturday in March of each year. Nominations will be accepted from April 1st through September 1st of each year. Evaluation of nominees will be conducted by the Pastor and Associate Pastor of St. Columbkille Church and the Ceili Committee.
Eligibility Criteria: The Nominee(s) must:
Exhibit a lifestyle of stewardship and quiet discipleship and serve as a model of stewardship for others.
Be actively providing service to St. Columbkille Church and/or St. Columbkille School and such service is ongoing.
Be a registered member of St. Columbkille Church; provided however, that (i) employees of St. Columbkille Church and St. Columbkille Catholic School, and (ii) any Chair, Honorary Chair, or Subcommittee Chair of the Ceili Committee are not eligible for nomination.
Be one whose stewardship reflects the mission of St. Columbkille Church to “Go and Make Disciples,” and which is performed on a volunteer basis without pay.
Not have received the Spirit of St. Columbkille Award previously.
Couples who meet the criteria above and either perform services together or separately in different parish and/or school ministries are eligible for nomination. However, self and spouse nominations will not be accepted. In addition, nominations cannot be made posthumously.
