At the YMCA, we believe in the power of inspired young people. YMCA NSW Youth Parliament is the articulation of our belief. YMCA NSW Youth Parliament is an a-political empowerment and advocacy program that provides a platform for young people to have their voices heard through legislative debate and decision making. Participants create bills with their peers, then head to NSW Parliament House to debate these bills in front of real MPs.
This program is for young people in years 10-12 or age equivalent.
Key dates*:
- Training Camp: 16th-19th April 2020
- Residential Camp: 12th-18th July 2020
*You must be able to committ to both camps to participate.
YMCA NSW absorbs many of the costs associated with the program in an attempt to make it as accessible as possible. There is however, a fee still associated. If you are unable to pay for the program, YMCA staff can support you to find financial assistance and or sponsorship and potentially work out a payment plan.
