Allegra Melillio, MD, Director of the Aurora LIGHTS Project, will discuss this comprehensive health career pipeline for underserved and disadvantaged students from Aurora and all overColorado. This program partners the Colorado Area Health Education Center, UC Denver (both the Downtown and Anschutz Medical Campus) with Aurora Public School District, Central Colorado Area Health Education Center, Community College of Aurora and the Metropolitan Community Provider Network. The effort recruits, supports and retains students who are interested in learning about and pursuing a career in the health profession. Students and teachers involved in the program obtain unique opportunities.
