Triathlon Alberta, the provincial governing body for multisport in Alberta, is currently seeking nominations for:
- President-Elect: This position requires demonstrated leadership and management experience
- Secretary: This position requires prior experience fulfilling the role of Secretary, at either the Triathlon Alberta or another organization, with knowledge of bylaws, meetings/agendas and Roberts Rules of Order
- 2 Director at Large vacancies
Descriptions of Triathlon Alberta Board of Directors Positions
on its Board of Directors to serve a two-year or three-year term until the 2021 or 2022 Triathlon Alberta Annual General Meeting (AGM); Secretary and Director at Large are two-year terms, President-Elect is a three-year term.
After successful review by Nomination Committee, Board Members will be appointed by online election of the Members between September 29 and October 20, 2019. Of the four vacancies, two current board members are eligible to stand for re-election.
With the support of key stakeholders, such as Alberta Sport Connection and Triathlon Canada, Triathlon Alberta is responsible for the direction of the sport of Triathlon and Multisport in Alberta. We strive to foster the innovation and development of programs, services and resources.
The Triathlon Alberta Board of Directors consists of nine positions, elected for two or three-year terms. This governance-level Board exemplifies good governance, financial management, and accountable processes in the promotional and strategic development of Multisport and Triathlon in Alberta. The Board of Directors have ten to twelve scheduled meetings per year, with up to two meetings held in-person and the remainder by teleconference. Additional meetings may be added.
A new Board Member will be expected to participate in an orientation session and to be comfortable being a member of a governance board.
