The following agreement between Bonita Park Camp and Conference Center and the volunteer is in effect for the duration of the volunteer relationship. You are responsible for your accommodations. Bonita Park has an RV Park that can be available for your stay, space permitting.
This relationship is one of volunteerism and not of employment.
The volunteer(s) agree that lodging, meals and other fringe benefits of working at Bonita Park are available solely to facilitate the services volunteered.
Volunteer(s) agree that their primary motivation for volunteering is for the intangible religious benefits of Christian service and that they are in agreement with the camp’s mission and policies.
Either party may terminate the volunteer’s services at any time.
I understand that as a volunteer I am not covered by Workman’s Compensation insurance or other employee benefits of Bonita Park and agree to hold Bonita Park harmless for any personal injury or sickness incurred while volunteering these services.
I agree that my primary motivation for volunteering is Christian service and agree to support the mission and the staff conduct guidelines of Bonita Park.
I have read and agree with the Mission Statement, Statement of Belief, Goals of Bonita Park, and the Resolution of Faith. (Listed Below)
Mission Statement
Bonita Park is a place of spiritual enrichment, social development, physical activity and mental renewal in a Christ-centered atmosphere.
Statement of Belief
We believe: In one God: the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. That the Old and New Testament Scriptures, given by plenary inspiration, contain all truth necessary to faith and Christian living. That man is born with a fallen nature, and is, therefore inclined to evil and that continually. That the finally unrepentant are hopelessly and eternally lost. That the atonement through Jesus Christ is for the whole human race, and that whosoever repents and believes on the Lord Jesus Christ is justified and regenerated and saved from the dominion of sin. That believers are to be sanctified wholly, subsequent to regeneration, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. That the Holy Spirit bears witness to the new birth, and also to the entire sanctification of believers. That our Lord will return, the dead will be raised, and the final judgment will take place.
Goals of Bonita Park
To aid in the spiritual growth and well being of the body of Christ; especially reaching out to New Mexico District Nazarenes. To provide facilities for other individuals and groups with the same desire. To glorify God with a camp and conference facility that is prepared, usable and ever improving for every age group. To progressively develop new means of Christian camping to be more efficient and effective. To be oriented to the total needs of all people and seek to meet as many of those needs as possible.
Resolution of Faith
Be it hereby declared that Bonita Park: Believes that the breadth of its ministry is directly related to the depth and sincerity of commitment to Jesus Christ demonstrated by each employee. Believes that the effectiveness of its public ministry is directly related to the authenticity and pervasiveness of a private
faith commitment by each employee. Believes in the Biblical truth of a “little leaven leavening the whole loaf” which must guide the careful selection of its staff. Believes that the Biblical analogy of the human body to the body of Christ and the necessity of each member maintaining an organic relationship to the head is directly applicable to Bonita Park and its employees.
It is therefore resolved that:
This truth requires that each employee/volunteer has and maintains real and vibrant fellowship with Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. Therefore, each employee is regarded as a full-time ambassador of Jesus Christ and of Bonita Park. All employees/volunteers shall behave on and off the job in a manner consistent with the mission of Bonita Park as an organization committed to declaring and demonstrating the message, mission and character of Jesus Christ.
Each employee/volunteer shall pray for Bonita Park, its staff, its ministry and its public constituency on a regular basis. Each employee/volunteer shall regularly participate in staff devotional activities as his/her other duties permit and shall be prepared to pray with and provide Biblical counsel to those seeking ministry services, if and when periodically requested by their supervisor.
We seek to maintain staff and volunteers of blameless character and testimony. Therefore as a part of our back-ground check, we periodically consult the National Crime Index Service as well as local law enforcement officials and the INA.
