  • Before you begin: 

    Thank you for your interest in our rescue crew and for considering adding a rescue dog to your family! The information you provide is very helpful to us in finding a good lifelong, dog-companion. We welcome applicants who: work, have families, are busy, go to school, have big yards (AND those who don't).  Our adoptive homes are as unique and diverse as our available dogs. So let's work together to find a dog that will bring joy and happiness to your home!

    That said, dog ownership is also a serious responsiblity.  It is the policy of Rise and Shine Pit Bull Rescue to assure that each person who adopts a dog is not only aware of the responsibility but also capable and willing to accept the commitment - both physically and financially.

    The questions below are deisgned to help both you and Rise and Shine Pit Bull Rescue carefully consider the decision and to ensure our rescue dogs find permanent, loving homes.

    We are an all-volunteer organization and we review applications as quickly as possible.  You will likely hear back from us via email or phone in roughly 5-7 days.

    • Booster vaccinations $15-25/ea

    • Heartworm testing $40 (yearly)
    • 6 Mo Heartworm prevention $50-75
    • Flea & Tick prevention $10-15/mo
    • Quality dog food $30-40/mo
    • Emergency vet hospital visit $250+

    These are sample amounts based on one, medium sized dog and do vary greatly by provider and type of care needed

    By signing below, you agree that no guarantees or warranties of health or temperament can be or are made by Rise and Shine Pit Bull Rescue.  You willingly accept full responsibility for the costs, liability and care of the dog at the time of adoption.  You may return the dog to us for health reasons, but a refund on the adoption fee will not be given unless the return occurs with the first (3) days following adoption (in the event your personal vet determines there is a health concern that was unknown to us).  We hope this information doesn't discourage you from adopting from us but reminds you that love comes with no guarantee.
