In the areas below please check what you can do for SemDems. Here is a brief description of volunteer opportunities:
Voter Registration – Collect voter registration forms at public places such as the library and tax collector’s office.
Training will be provided.
Canvassing – Walk neighborhoods and knock on doors to speak with voters and get candidate petitions signed. Training will be provided, and canvassers will travel in pairs using a predetermined map.
Phone Bank – Call a specific list of voters for renewal of Vote by Mail and reminding them to vote. Phone banking can be done at home or at our SemDems office.
Office – Answer the phone, data entry, phone bank or write postcards to voters.
Communications - Social Media, writing, graphic design, audio/visual, blogging, website development
Research - Search online for legislative updates, find relevant community events, etc.
Postcards – Write postcards to voters using a script. A great opportunity for those with neat handwriting!
Events – Help with SemDems outreach at local festival. Volunteer at the booth registering people to vote, sign petitions and give general elections information.
Votebuilder – Learn the ins and outs of Votebuilder and help precincts with outreach lists. Votebuilder is the Democrats' online platform used for voter outreach.
Fundraising – Join the fundraising committee to help with outreach on fundraising events and asking voters for donations.
Outreach – Provide help to our underserved communities.
Canvassing packets - As the 2020 election approaches, we'll need volunteers to assemble packets for canvassers. Opportunities will begin next year.
