Start to measure your existing bridle by taking the whole bridle apart and laying each individual piece out flat. Always measure from the outside of a closed turn/billet and measure shaped browbands in a straight line, not along the curve or the V of the actual browband.

Length of Browband

(Measure outside loop edge to other outside loop edge)

Headpiece - throat

(Measure from hole used over the top to the buckle turn, not the end of the buckle)

Cheekpieces

(With billets closed, measure outside edge of billet to buckle turn, not the end of the buckle)

Billet to billet

(With cheekpieces attached to the headpiece, measure from outside edge of billet over the top to other outside edge of billet)

Noseband cheekpiece

(Measure from the top of the noseband to the buckle turn, not the end of the buckle)

Noseband to noseband

(Measure from hole used over the top of the headpiece to either the other hole used or the noseband on the offside depending on design of bridle)

Noseband in between cheeks

(Measure in between the two noseband cheekpieces)

Cavesson noseband

(Measure from the buckle to the hole used)

Crank noseband

(Measure from edge of closed crank strap to other dee or roller being sure to flatten all the straps)

Crank front

(Measure from one dee or roller over the front of the nose to other dee or roller)

Crank strap

(Measure the closed crank strap from one edge to the other edge)

Flash strap

(Measure from the hole most used to the buckle turn, not the end of the buckle)

Rein length

(Measure from the outside edge of the closed billet to the hole or buckle turn)

Bridoon Rein length

(Measure from the outside edge of the closed billet to the hole or buckle turn)

Curb Rein length

(Measure from the outside edge of the closed billet to the hole or buckle turn)

Rein length from bit to start of grip

(Measure from the closed billet to where you would like the grips to start)

Bridoon Rein length from bit to start of grip

(Measure from the closed billet to where you would like the grips to start)

Curb Rein length from bit to start of grip if applicable

(Measure from the closed billet to where you would like the grips to start)

Rein width

(Measure the width of the leather, not the width of the grips)

Bridoon Rein width
