  • Creston Classroom/Specialist Grant Guidelines

Creston PTA will make available grants to teachers or specialists, including Special Education instruction. These may be in addition to any annual budgeted classroom funds. Grant funds are intended for projects, field trips and materials that enhance the learning experience of the students in the classroom, or the school community. They will not be awarded for food items, parties, prizes, consumables or similar items. PTA Insurance requirements state that the PTA cannot fund transportation. Written grant proposals describing the educational purpose, population of students served, timeline for use of funds, and all other relevant details must be submitted to the PTA President, prior to the expenditure of the funds. PTA will not make funds available retroactively. Grant proposals will be discussed and voted on at PTA Board meetings only. Grant funds will be awarded at the discretion of the Creston PTA Board, whose decisions are final. Proposals will be evaluated on their educational impact.  Preference will be given to grant proposals that benefit the most students, provide the most intensive educational impact, or demonstrate an effort on the part of grantee to secure additional, outside funds. The maximum grant award per teacher per year is $250. When all budgeted annual grant funds have been allocated for the year, no further grants will be approved.  Completed application forms should be placed in the PTA black file box located in the office. Applicants will be notified of approval/denial within two weeks of committee review. Funds will be distributed at that time, if applicable.
