    INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

    STUDENT INTERNSHIP APPLICATION

    The Oklahoma Newspaper Foundation is the charitable affiliate of the Oklahoma Press Association. It will award paid 280-hour internships that must be served during summer 2026 at one of the 160 legal newspapers or general news media members of the Oklahoma Press Association. This program will promote the value of working at Oklahoma newspapers and online news organizations and benefit students as they begin their professional careers.

    At the end of this form, you'll be asked to:
    (a) upload your résumé and photo (optional) and
    (b) upload or provide links to examples of your work.

    Submission Deadline: February 16, 2026

  • Submit with completed application form:

    1. Résumé listing work experience and academic achievements.

    2. A personal photo is optional. It may be a headshot or head/torso shot.

    3. Three samples of your journalistic work showing a demonstrated ability in your internship interest (reporting, page design, photography, ad design or ad sales). There are options to either UPLOAD OR PROVIDE LINKS to your materials.  If necessary, you may email materials to amarshall@okpress.com instead.

    By submitting this application, I hereby confirm that all information is correct to the best of my knowledge and that I will have completed at least my sophomore year in college by the end of the 2026 spring semester. The Oklahoma Newspaper Foundation has my permission to distribute this application form and all of its parts and attachments to member newspapers of the Oklahoma Press Association.

    If accepted into the ONF internship program, I agree to complete the 280-hour internship with the newspaper I agree to work for unless I become medically disabled. I understand that my receipt of the full amount of the promised internship stipend is contingent upon successful completion of the 280-hour internship and submission of my final materials to ONF. If I participate in this program, I agree that ONF may use my statements and likeness in its promotional literature, both in print and online.
