  • This is the Waterhackweek tutorial leads and data scientist leads registration form. If you want to register as a participant, please fill out this form.

    Tutorial and data scientist leads are exempt from paying the $100 registration fee. 

    Waterhackweek 2020 is scheduled for August 31 - September 04 2020 at the University of Washington, Seattle. We ask you to fill out the form below to be considered to attend Waterhackweek *before May 15, 2020*. The participant deadline is May 31 and they will be notified by June 12.  The number of projects and participants will be limited by the number of instructors trained for leadership on virtual hackweek project teams (max team size = 7 people; including one data scientist and one facilitator).  

    Finally, by completing this form you agree for your data to be used for the purpose of  demographic comparisons with past and future eScience Hackweeks. We will not share your data beyond the organizers or use it for any other purpose and we commit to anonymizing the data within a month of participant selection. Please email us if you have any questions or concerns or would like to revoke your content. Additionally, you also agree to committing 8 hours or less every day for the 5 days of the hackathon.

    Instructors, as well as participants, will be expected to follow the Waterhackweek code of conduct which is intended to foster the welcoming, collaborative atmosphere of past workshops. Please read the code of conduct and then answer the question below. Code of Conduct:

    • The data science lead is expected to assist the project teams and provide expertise in the data science tools and methods. The data scientist will join a group based on common interests.

      Details about project workflows and project management are provided here. 

      Contributions can include running an impromptu study group one afternoon, help providing your particular experiences within water and data science to a community-related project, or helping scoping out an outreach project.

      You can serve both as a data scientist lead and tutorial lead at Waterhackweek.
