    The Story:
  • A woman with a questionable reputation has gone missing in a small English village and her disappearance has shaken the normal relative tranquility of the town. A young woman named Olivia, her aunt and her aunt's household have been thrust into the middle of the story, She suspects a suspicious, charming young man named Dan may be involved in the woman's disappearance. • Director's Notes

    Peter Marsh
  • Night must fall holds a special place in my heart. It is one of the earliest plays I remember seeing and it left an impression. NMF is a period-piece roller coaster that draws in drama, terror, mystery, and comedy. The play is set in 1930's Shepperley, Essex, England (though I have seen it staged in an American contect, also) and my hope is to be as true to the original setting and idiom as possible. If you don't know the difference between a Yorkshire, Midlands, Cockney, Manchester of Bristol - or if you don't do an English accent at all! - don't let that keep you from auditioning.

I believe that community theatre should strive to provide as many people as possible with an opportunity to perfrom. To that end, it is our hope to cast understudies in three of the parts. We will have 2 performances as dedicated understudy shows, so that if you are cast in an understudy role, you will definitely have the opportunity to perform your role at least twice. This will also give us more flexibility if actors have a specific conflict with one of the performance dates.

Please arrive with a memorized 30-90 second monologue that showcases what you can do. As always, audition monologues should be age-appropriate both for the actor and for the part for which you wish to audition. You may be asked to perform the monologue more than once with variations as directed, so be flexible. The ages for the parts are listed in the character descriptions.
