• OMHA Excellence in Development Award

    2019-2020 Nomination Guidelines and Form
  • An award established to recognize and honour an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to hockey development programming in minor hockey in the OMHA. Nominees can be from any area of hockey development, including:

    • Player development
    • Coaching
    • Officiating
    • Safety
    • Program Administration
    • Other related categories

    This award will be presented at the OMHA Annual General Meeting.

    ELIGIBILITY

    Any OMHA Minor Hockey Association in good standing may nominate a person for this award by forwarding a completed nomination form and accompanying letter to the OMHA stating the impact this person has made on development programming in minor hockey.

    Submissions will be made to the OMHA Office and will be reviewed by the TD-Coaches Program; TD-Referees Program; TD-Trainers Program and Development Programs Staff and a recommendation will be forwarded to Development Committee for approval.

    Applications must be submitted to the OMHA by December 15th, 2019 by 5:00 pm.

    Examples of nominees include:

    • A local Initiation Program Lead who has grown registration;
    • Local Coach Mentor or Head Coach
    • Referee who mentors young Officials
    • Head Trainer who has implemented concussion protocol in their Association

    Nomination must be endorsed by signing officer of the nominating Association Executive.
