TERMS:
1. Applicant must be a student of a member of the Canadian Federation of Music Teachers' Associations.
2. The minimum age will be 16 years, with the maximum age of instrumentalists being 25 years and vocalists 27 years as of December 31, 2021.
3. Applicant will prepare and submit to the provincial convener, a varied, balanced program consisting of two major works, a piece by a Canadian composer plus a variety of shorter selections, not to exceed 45 minutes. (Minimum diploma level).
4. Successful applicant must be available for the September/October 2022 tour, and fulfill the obligations of the contract.
5. The pianist must also be a competent collaborator and may be required to assist a vocalist or instrumentalist.
6. Candidates should be suitably attired (not necessarily formal) for the competition.
7. The Manitoba Provincial competition will be held via video submission. Recordings must be received by 9am Monday January 24th, 2022. 8. The interprovincial competition will take place on Saturday March 5, 2022 at Emmanuel Anglican church (Saskatoon, SK) in person if health guidelines permit. Time TBA.
9. Please note that IF you are competing in the advanced level of the MRMTA Performance Scholarship Competition AND the Young Artist Competition, you may submit the same video PROVIDED that you are following ALL rules and regulations particular to each competition. These are separate competitions and it is the sole responsibility of the competitor to check all of these regulations. Thank you.
