  • About the Youth Farm at Enoch Davis

The Youth Farm is the creation of a cradle-to-career pathway for food systems careers and entrepreneurship in our school system, starting with the establishment of a Youth Farm demonstration project at the Enoch Davis Recreation Center in South St. Petersburg. To qualify youth must be in High School and live in the CRA. The CRA is defined as approximately 4th Street to 49th Street and 2nd Avenue North to 30th Avenue South. For more about the Youth Farm program, visit stpete.org/youthfarm.

Summary of Steering Committee Roles and Attendance Policy

We are seeking two residents of the CRA to join our Steering Committee. Our Committee is comprised of the chairs of our working groups to include, Education, Site Design & Maintenance, Legal & Governance, Resource Development and Marketing & Outreach. Additionally, we have two members of the Youth Cooperative board on the Steering Committee. The addition of two community members would make for a total of 9 members of the Steering Committee. This Committee would have overall governance of the policies and regulation of the Youth Farm at Enoch Davis Center.

Through the end of 2019, the Committee would meet every other week in person and a conference call the alternating week to move the project forward. The existing Steering Committee would select the two community members and community members would be required to serve a 1-year term.
