Thanksgiving is our favorite holiday and we pride ourselves on offering you the absolute best food we can find that was grown and raised right around here. It starts with the star of the show-- the Thanksgiving Turkey. You've probably read about our turkeys in emails and social media. They were quite the adventure for us this year!
The turkeys are pasture-raised, and most days very free-range making their rounds outside of their pasture during dinner time!
Over the years, we have recieved countless emails, letters and calls telling us that our turkeys are hands-down the best turkeys our customers have ever tried. Our turkeys are raised on pasture, where they eat a diet high in protein, and live outside in fresh air. Some of them are raised in the cornfield, naturally fertilizing the land, while having a chance to dart in and out of the corn and eat the lower leaves. All this culminates in tasty, healthy turkeys.
Our turkeys are processed the weekend before Thanksgiving. This means they are fresh, not frozen. The are available for pick up at the barn on the Tuesday and Wednesday before Thanksgiving (Tues. Nov 26 and Wed. Nov 27.) from 12 - 6 pm. Special arrangements can be made if you need to pick up your order at a different time.
Our Market Turkeys are Broad Breasted White & Broad Breasted Bronze Turkeys (formerly sold as Hens & Toms). These are our most popular birds, bred for more white meat.
Our Heritage Turkeys are American Bronze Standard Heritage Breed. They tend to be smaller than our Market Turkeys and have more juicy, dark meat. These Heritage Turkeys have a devoted fan base and we sell out early every year.
The majority of our Market Turkeys will be between 14 - 24lbs, and Heritage Turkeys will be between 12 - 22lbs. However, we will have plenty of turkeys that are outside of that range; smaller and larger. For serving, we suggest 1.5 - 2lbs of turkey per adult guest. A tip: it's easier to cook two smaller turkeys perfectly than one enormous turkey.
Because our turkeys are processed right before delivery, we unfortunately cannot guarantee an exact weight, but we will try to get as close as possible to your request based on availability.
Market Turkeys are $4.50 per pound
Heritage Turkeys are $5.25 per pound
$20 deposit per Turkey required for pre-order
The balance (determined by weight and type) is due at pick up.
For a 17lb Market Turkey, you'd pay a $20 deposit now and a balance of $56.50 at pick up.
For a 17lb Heritage Turkey, you'd pay a $20 deposit now, and your balance due at pick up would be $69.25.
All orders must be paid for in full at pickup, so please plan on bringing a cash or check when you pick up. A non-refundable $20 deposit is required for Thanksgiving orders.
