The National Association of College and University Residence Halls (NACURH) is excited to offer a free Alternative Break experience. We will be taking delegates to Albequerque, New Mexico for a five day, four night service experience from March 11th-15th. This year, we focusing on environmental efforts and giving back to the city of Albuquerque. Delegates will also participate in virtual meetings before and after the trip to prepare and develop as a group. Please go here for more information prior to completing this application. This application is due November 18, 2019 at 11:59 PM (EST). Applicants will be notified by December 1st.
An delegate for the NACURH Alternative Break should have the desire to participate, the willingness to have meaningful reflection, a desire to learn and collaborate, and be willing to keep an open mind.
Requirements of an Alternative Break Delegate
- Must be over 18 years old
- Must live in the residence halls of a NACURH-affiliated school
- Must be prepared to arrange and pay for travel to Albuquerque, NM on March 11th by 2pm and depart no earlier than 12 pm on March 15th
- Must be prepared to attend at least 6 pre-trip virtual meetings, the entire Alternative Break, and at least 3 post-trip virtual meetings
- These hour-long virtual meetings will be approximately biweekly with a day and time TBD
