AVAILABILITY
Serving on the board will require you to be available for the board meeting, currently held on the 3rd Thursday of each month. In preparation for the board meeting, you will need to review reports and information prior to the meeting. In addition, you should have availability each month to spend time at home reading and keeping up-to-date on the electric industry in general (key issues, trends, emails) and speaking with co-op members when contacted. New directors are encouraged to participate in the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association's (NRECA) Director Certificate Programs specifically designed to help electric cooperative directors understand and fulfill their roles and responsibilities. NRECA's programs also help to educate you on current issues/trends and prepare you for decision making in the board room.
NOTE: Availability for monthly Tri-County EMC board meetings is required. Attendance at affiliated company meetings/ conferences/ events is encouraged, but optional.
