Introduction to the CYIA Missionary Application
Thank you for taking time to seek what God may want you to do this summer! We are excited that you’re considering serving as a summer missionary with Child Evangelism Fellowship® (CEF®).
Christian Youth In Action® (CYIA) is a home missions experience where you will receive training that can impact you for the rest of your life. You’ll also have the opportunity to share the Gospel with hundreds of children throughout the summer. It’s an amazing way to grow, serve, and see God work through you!
What to Expect: The CYIA Application Process
1. Fill out this form to register as a CYIA missionary.
This begins your application and lets your local chapter know you are interested.
2. Watch for a second form.
After the local chapter confirms your registration, you will receive another form that covers policies and procedures you need to review and accept.
3. Schedule an interview.
You will meet with a local representative.
If you are under 18, a parent or guardian must attend to sign required legal documents.
4. Attend pre-training meetings.
Several meetings will take place in April or May to help prepare you for CYIA.
5. Communicate the need for financial support
Send letters to family and friends inviting them to partner with you through prayer and, if they feel led, by contributing financially toward the cost of your training and summer outreach.
6. Participate in CYIA Training School/Camp.
Training School is held at Camp Fairwood June 14–20.
If you cannot attend, consider serving as an Assistant CYIA Missionary.
7. Continue training in your local chapter.
Additional training will be held June 22–26.
Most students stay at home during this week while attending local sessions.
8. Serve for at least two additional weeks in the summer.
These weeks give you the opportunity to put your training into action by sharing the Gospel with children in your community.
