Terms and conditions of the contract:
We reserve the right to refuse puppy sales to anyone at any time for any reason!
Note: Willow Ridge Kennel has the option of first pick(s) of the litter at any time of male or female.
It is understood that no cash refunds will be given for returned pups or dogs.
Pups are to be picked up or delivered by 8 weeks old. There is a $100 weekly fee for pups staying past 8 weeks.
It is understood that your puppy has been dewormed appropriatly, and their 1st parvo and distemper vaccination.
Longhair Weimaraners will NOT have their tails docked or dewclaws removed. Shorthair Weimaraners, Vizslas, and Wirehaired Vizslas will have tails docked and dewclaws removed.
The breeder may terminate the contract at any point they feel a family is not fit for a puppy. Buyers are expected to have a considerable amount of knowledge about the breed before purchase.
If at any time you feel your pup no longer fits in with your family and lifestyle, please return the puppy back to the breeder where we will provide proper placement. Under no circumstances should a puppy be sold, transferred, or surrendered to an animal control facility, shelter, rescue or a cash refund given for the return. Failure to return the puppy to the seller will result in prosecution a $5,000 fine + any fee's or money spent to get the dog back or placed in an appropriate home.
Deposits are non-refundable. Any deposits on litters that are not fulfilled are transferred to the next litter or another upcoming litter by mutual decision. If we are unable to produce a puppy that fits what you are looking for (based on sex and color) within 12 months we will return your deposit.
If you choose to transfer your deposit due to unforeseen circumstances that no longer allows you to purchase your puppy then you must use this deposit within 2 years or it will be lost.
Puppy prices are NON-NEGOTIABLE! The price you agree to pay is listed in the contract at the time of signing and this is the price you are expected to pay for your puppy in full by 7-weeks of age. If other puppies in the litter are discounted after you have signed the contract you are still locked in for agreed upon price format. Refusal to pay the agreed upon price will result in a void of contract and you will forfeit your position on the list.
At 8 weeks of age the pups are ready to leave our home and join their new family. We know we have done our best in raising your new family member and we back our puppies with these comprehensive guarantees.
1- General Health Guarantee - 3 days Your new puppy is warranted to be in good health and to be virus-free for up to 3 days.
2- Eye Disorder Guarantee - 12 month
3- Hip Dysplasia Guarantee - 24 month
4- Elbow Dysplasia Guarantee- 24 month
Although Epilepsy is common in the Vizsla breed we cannot guarantee against is as there is currently no screening test to determine normal, carrier and affected status, to allow breeders the potential to eliminate epilepsy from breeding stock.
**Please be advised that a Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) can also be a common issue with these breeds during puppyhood.
 GENERAL HEALTH
If your veterinarian states that your puppy has any problem that makes it a poor health risk (this does not include the presence of external parasites such as fleas, ticks, lice, mites, mange, etc. or internal parasites such as roundworms, whipworms, hookworms, tapeworms, giardia, coccidia, poisoning, reproductive problems, accidents, vaccine or medicine-related reactions, umbilical hernias, undescended testicles, UTI's, lack of veterinary care, veterinary error, lack of training, or behavioral problems.), you may, within 3 days of purchase, return the puppy (along with the AKC registration papers and all materials) for a full refund. A written, signed, and dated statement from your veterinarian is required detailing the description of symptoms supporting his/her opinion and an explanation as to why this puppy would be a poor health risk. This exam and all associated costs are the buyer’s responsibility. Please note that this is 3 days from when the pup leaves our premises.
It is understood that no cash refunds will be guaranteed and we will not be responsible for ANY vet expense or diagnostic testing for any reason. We reserve the right to have a second option obtained from another veterinarian of our choosing. If a puppy should die before the extent of this guarantee a necropsy must be performed within 24 hours of the puppy’s’ passing to determine the cause.
If a currently licensed veterinarian finds a life-threatening health disease within 3 days of purchase, the breeder must be notified immediately (within 24 hours) by the customer with the conclusion of the veterinarian findings. A certified letter is to be sent to the breeder by the veterinarian within 24 hours of the diagnosis. The unhealthy puppy must be returned within 3 business days for a replacement. If you refuse to provide proof of or cannot provide proof from a veterinarian, or do not return the unhealthy puppy the guarantee will be void.
Willow Ridge is not obligated to exercise this section of the contract if we believe that the puppy is the victim of an accident or has been abused.
Hip dysplasia (CHD) and other joint problems can often be attributed to environmental conditions as well as heredity. Studies have shown that CHD is 50% genetic as well as 50% environmental. Therefore, we cannot guarantee this dogs hips against any form of dysplasia that is attributable to nongenetic causes, nor do we guarantee a dog will obtain any particular Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA or Pennhip) Rating.
Note: if only one hip or elbow is rated with mild dysplasia or worse but the other side is rated with a fair or better than this is not covered by our guarantee. True hereditary dysplasia is bilateral and affects both sides. Unilateral dysplasia is where there was trauma involved that caused one side to not grow or heal properly. Puppies are warranted against crippling hip/elbow dysplasia that is apparent by 24 months of age.
If a Willow Ridge puppy is suspected of being mildly to severely dysplastic (hips & elbows) or has eye issues within 24 months, due to genetic cause, and is not functionally able to run or walk without extreme pain (Many times, even with diagnosed dysplasia, the puppy can still live a happy, full, and pain-free life), this is the procedure to follow for the terms of the warranty to remain in effect: We will apply the full purchase price of your puppy toward the price of a replacement puppy chosen by Willow Ridge within 24 months.
Willow Ridge will not be responsible for any travel/shipping expenses, either for receiving a replacement puppy or returning an unhealthy puppy. It is understood that no cash refunds will be given & we will not be responsible for ANY vet expense or diagnostic testing for any reason; including spaying/neutering. The breeder reserves the right to a second opinion to be obtained from a veterinarian of breeder’s choice. If documentation from the veterinarian is received and a life-threatening health disease is verified, and the puppy is returned, then a replacement puppy will be given to replace the above-purchased puppy. The replacement puppy will be the breeder’s choice of current stock or expected litters. If you choose to keep the dog, you have the right to a replacement puppy at 3/4 the selling price from the next litter within 24 months.
A statement must be received from your veterinarian noting that he/she has no knowledge of any injuries to this dog which may have contributed to the dysplasia. The breeder requires the puppy to be Spay/Neuter procedure NO EARLIER than 18 months old. Buyer understands that failure to comply with these recommendations shall Null and Void any and all health warranties provided by Breeder.
It is understood that hip/elbow problems can be caused by poor nutrition, early spay/neuter or injury and that the puppy is warranted to the extent of genetic hip or elbow dysplasia, and eye problems only. In order to maintain the limited guarantee outlined herein, the buyer must
1. have all updated immunizations documented and administered by a licensed veterinarian.
2. Have the dog on a proper moderate exercise routine
3. Provide the dog with a proper diet; dog must not be over or underweight.
4. The dog must not have been bred or sired a litter before 24 months of age.
5. The dog must not have been altered before 18 months of age. (if a puppy is spayed/neutered before this recommendation the warranty is null and void)
6. A copy of the OFA/Pennhip rating must be sent to the Breeder by 24 months of age.
WE ONLY warranty genetic hip, elbow, and eye issues for 24-months only. We cannot warranty any other health issues not found within the 3-day warranty above!
The dog shall NOT be put to sleep due to genetic health or behavioral issues within this warranty without seller’s written consent.
Seller does not assume responsibility for any other veterinary bills or other expenses incurred by the purchaser on behalf of the dog after the dog has left the kennel.
The Buyer agrees to maintain preventative health care of the puppy including, but not limited to: inoculations, internal as well as external parasites, heartworm preventative medication. Buyer also agrees to feed a good quality dog food on which a list has been provided with suggested dog foods. In the event a Buyer exercises return rights under one year health guarantee, all documentation that the above maintenance has been performed must be provided to Seller. If the buyer does not provide such proof that every step was taken to assure the good health of the puppy, no refund or replacement puppy will be given.
Vaccinations: The Vizsla Club of America and Weimaraner Club of America has established a special protocol for vaccinating puppies due to immuno-deficiency problems in this breed. BUYERS agree to have their veterinarian administer a series of vaccinations for parvo/distemper, rabies and other recommended vaccinations, strictly following the treatment schedule furnished with the puppy and attached. If the series is not continued and strictly administered using the protocol as outlined, the health guarantee described above shall become null and void. We do not guarantee against overvaccination.
Please note that NuVet Plus supplements are required as part of your pet’s Health Guarantee; please administer NuVet Plus supplements on a daily basis to said puppy. Purchases of vitamins will be tracked by NuVet Labs. Please use Sellers ID #12757
This puppy has been sold as a pet/companion dog; Willow Ridge Kennel does not sell brood bitches or stud dogs (unless otherwise arranged). They are sold with the AKC/NAVHDA Limited Registration, which states this dog may be registered, but any offspring resulting from mating will not be. If the puppy is being sold with limited registration, the Buyer agrees to have the puppy spayed/neutered NO EARLIER than 18 months of age and provide Seller with verification of such.
Limited AKC Registration, never to be used for breeding purposes, and to be spayed or neutered at 18 months of age and no earlier. Limited registration restricts any placement in conformation shows or breeding. It does allow any and all placements into hunt and field tests, earthdog, tracking, agility, companion dog etc.The health guarantee does not guarantee against belly button hernia, cryptorchidism, dew claw re-growth or under or over-bite with this type of registration. With this type of registration proof of spay or neuter does need to be provided from a certified veterinarian.
Shipping & Pick Up: Please note we only ship pups in cargo as last resort. If your puppy must be transported with a USDA ground shipper or Flight Nanny it is up to you as the buyer to arrange and pay costs associated with that. There will be a $150.00 fee to cover the extra certificate needed for puppies to be shipped via ground or fly in cabin. We can also meet you Louisville International Airport with your puppy.
Willow Ridge works closely with New Holmes Pet Express on hand delivery of pups to new homes. Please let us know if you will need this service.
Medical records have been provided to me and I understand all of these terms for the sale of the puppy. By signing below, I agree to these terms and conditions. I also understand that this document shall be enforceable in any court of law and any and all legal ramifications will take place in the state of Kentucky. This document shall be kept, with my signature, address, and phone number, on file with Willow Ridge Kennel and a copy has been provided to me.
BUYERS acknowledge that the SELLER has a vested interest in the puppy throughout its lifetime and SELLER has to the best of their ability, placed the puppy in a home that matches the BUYERS needs and requirements with the Weimaraner breed and the temperament of this puppy. In the event the BUYER is unable or unwilling to meet the terms and conditions of this Agreement the puppy must be returned to the SELLER. The puppy may not be sold, placed or traded to another owner nor placed in any shelter or rescue organization. In the event BUYERS no longer wish to own or care for the puppy, IT MUST BE RETURNED TO THE SELLER IMMEDIATELY. There will be no refund of any monies paid. The Buyer agrees that the puppy will NOT be left alone in backyard or kennel only. The Buyer agrees that the puppy will reside inside the home of the Buyer, and not be chained or “tied out”. This animal is sold with the understanding that it was to go to select homes, socialized properly, and become a member of the family.
This Agreement is made and signed by both parties to insure the well being and protection of this animal. If any part of this Agreement is breached, the Seller is released from any further obligations hereunder. Should the Seller need to seek legal action against the Buyer for violations of this Agreement, the Buyer will assume any and all attorney costs and court
