  • (In addition to the standard eligibility requirements, specific restrictions and/or exemptions may apply to participation in certain subsidised qualifications. Any additional eligibility requirements will be based on industry advice or requirements under the relevant national training package and will be detailed in the Queensland Training Subsidies List).

  • For SIT40416 Certificate IV in Hospitality:

    • Student must be an Existing Worker in the Tourism and Hospitality industry. (Please provide employment evidence)

  • Additionally, for students who are not Australian or New Zealand citizens, evidence of visa status should be documented, recorded and retained.

    • Student’s permanent visa label on their passport and / or documents from the Commonwealth Department of Immigration and Border Protection showing approval of a permanent visa subclass.
    • Temporary residency visa with the visa and work permits with copies of correspondence to and from the Commonwealth Department of Immigration and Border Protection indicating progress toward permanent residency.
    • Current Medicare card (usually green Medicare card however in some cases the blue Medicare card can be used with sufficient additional documentation – coloured copies required) or
    • Information obtained from VEVO

  • TRAINING
    Information on Training Services provided by Step into Training Services, thereafter known as SITS, is available from the office via phone or in written format. Prior to enrolling into your chosen course, ensure you have a full understanding of the structure of the course. All courses are delivered in line with State and any National requirements utilising equipment that complies with all safety standards. Courses are delivered as a theory lesson with a practical component and all participants must ensure they can undertake the training. All costs, durations and outcomes are available from the office  or on the website.

    ASSESSMENT
    Assessments of units will be conducted at a time agreed to by both parties after the following requirements are met.

    -  Successfully complete all required training, and
    -  Paid any outstanding monies owed,

    Additional assessment processes will be explained to you at the time of training. Should you have any additional questions regarding your assessment method or have any concerns please do discuss with a SITS Staff Member.

    SUPPORT SERVICES AND SPECIAL NEEDS
    SITS will take every possible action to ensure we support you throughout your training and assessment process. If at any point through-out your course you require any assistance or support, please discuss these needs with SITS staff and we will do our best to help. If you have any special needs, including Language and Literacy, learning, mobility, visual impairment or hearing please notify staff prior to enrolment to allow us to cater for your needs. If you do not notify us of any condition that may affect your learning, we will not be able to assist you if the need arises.

    STUDENT RIGHTS
    As part of your training and assessment, you have various rights. SITS wants to ensure your time spent with us is both beneficial and enjoyable. If at any point you feel harassed, discriminated or feel abused, please notify the CEO immediately either face to face, via phone or in writing. If you feel you need to complain about an aspect of service or training and assessment you may do so verbally or in writing. Appeals on any decision made by SITS may be lodged to the CEO and must be done so in writing. For more information on your rights, please talk to the staff.

    PRIVACY POLICY
    In compliance with the Privacy Act, the information requested on this enrolment form will only be used for the process of enrolment and maintaining the student records. All information will be kept confidential and access to this information is only available to you, the CEO and the trainer. If you want to view your files at any time, lodge the request with your trainer.

    MEDIA RELEASE
    At times during the course, the staff may take photos/videos for use in promotional activity and use your testimonials and photos on the website.

  • RULES AND REGULATIONS

    1. To complete your enrolled course students must be able to fulfil the following obligations:

    • Demonstrate to the Trainer and Assessor through attendance and assessment, both written and theory that academic and professional skills have been obtained to a satisfactory and competent level.
    • -Satisfy all academic, administrative and financial obligations to the organisation. Students must promptly notify SITS of any change of name, address and contact details.

    2. SITS may take telephone messages for students if requested and if it is an emergency. Mobile phones must be switched off during class.

    3. Students may be suspended or expelled from SITS at the CEO’s discretion for:

    •  non or late payment of fees
    • failure to uphold or maintain any of SITS Policies and Procedures
    • Serious misconduct or breach of legislation.

    Refund Policy

    The policy of the organisation is at all times to be fair and equitable to registered students. Applications for refunds can be made to the Director or CEO of the organisation.

    For Full Paying Students

    If the student is unable to commence, a refund of 90% of the full fees will be forwarded to the student if 7 or more days’ notice is given. Less than 7 days’ notice will attract a 50% cancellation fee. If a student is disadvantaged and cannot complete his/her course as a result of a situation that is instigated by the RTO then a full refund for the non-delivered portion of the course will be made and a Statement of Attainment issued for units completed. If the student does not complete the course or withdraws of their own volition then the normal refund policy of "no refund after commencement of course" applied.

    Higher Level Skills program

    Higher Level Skills program co-contribution refunds must be requested in writing 7 days prior to withdrawal. Withdrawal request must be made on the Withdrawal Request Form. This must be signed by the student and where applicable, referring 3rd Party. Units will be refunded on a unit-by-unit basis for all non-commenced units. Refunds will be processed via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) 7 days after the request has been received.

    SITS will ensure that it will assist a student to complete the qualification once the student has enrolled with the organization.

    Under the Data Provision Requirements 2012, SITS is required to collect personal information about you and to disclose that personal information to the National Centre for Vocational Education Research Ltd (NCVER).
    Your personal information (including the personal information contained on this enrolment form and your training activity data) may be used or disclosed by SITS for statistical, regulatory and research purposes. SITS may disclose your personal information for these purposes to third parties, including:

    • School – if you are a secondary student undertaking VET, including a school-based apprenticeship or traineeship;
    • Employer – if you are enrolled in training paid by your employer;
    • Commonwealth and State or Territory government departments and authorised agencies;
    • NCVER;
    • Organisations conducting student surveys; and
    • Researchers

    Personal information disclosed to NCVER may be used or disclosed for the following purposes:

    • Issuing a VET Statement of Attainment or VET Qualification, and populating Authenticated VET Transcripts;
    • Facilitating statistics and research relating to education, including surveys;
    • Understanding how the VET market operates, for policy, workforce planning and consumer information; and
    • Administering VET, including program administration, regulation, monitoring and evaluation

    You may receive an NCVER student survey which may be administered by an NCVER employee, agent or third party contractor. You may opt out of the survey at the time of being contacted.

    NCVER will collect, hold, use and disclose your personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), the VET Data Policy and all NCVER policies and protocols (including those published on NCVER’s website at www.ncver.edu.au)

  • STUDENT DECLARATION

    • I give SITS authority to create USI on my behalf, where required.
    • I release and hold harmless SITS, its CEO, staff and agents in respect of any property loss or personal injury that I may sustain whilst participating in my course.
    • I declare that the work and answers given in the Language, literacy & numeracy test is completed by me and is my own work.
    • I declare that I was NOT offered any incentive or gift to sign up for the course.
    • I declare that I am enrolled with SITS and there are no third-party arrangements.
    • I understand that, as a condition of receiving this funded training, I must complete and return to Step into Training Services, Student Employment Survey within three (3) months of completing or discontinuing their training.
    • I understand that, on completion of my Certificate IV level, I will no longer be eligible for a subsidised training placed under this Program, except for qualifications completed at school and foundation skills training and I am aware of the expectations and rules.
    • I understand that I am only entitled to concessional student concessional rates when a Commonwealth Government agency or Employment Service Provider is not funding my Co-Contribution Fee.
    • I declare that I have paid the Co-Contribution Fee for the course that I am enrolled in, which is charged by SITS.
    • I understand that, I need to provide Signed Statutory Declaration if required by Step into Training Services.
