LEAD Greater Williamsburg Application

Participation in LEAD Greater Williamsburg is open to persons living and/or working in the Greater Williamsburg Chamber & Tourism Alliance service area. If selected, you are expected to devote the time and resources necessary to complete the program. The Selection Committee seeks a diverse representation of the community from business, education, the arts, military, government, community and faith-based organizations, and ethnic and minority groups. Candidates need not have community leadership experience; however, expressed interest in the community service is essential. Class size will be determined by the number of and quality of applicants. Approximately 25-35 individuals may be selected for the program.

To certify completion of LEAD Greater Williamsburg, a participant is expected to attend all the following sessions:
- Welcome Reception: May 21, 2021. An evening to meet your classmates, recognize sponsors, and receive an overview of the class.
- Class Orientation: Sept. 09, 2021. An afternoon session to receive class materials and an overview of the curriculum.
- Retreat: Sept. 16 & 17, 2021. A 2-day, overnight meeting at Chanco on the James for team building and to begin brainstorming on the class project.
- One full weekday each month, the second Thursday, October 2021 through May 2022 for LEAD class sessions.
- An additional day in January 2022 for a visit to the General Assembly and legislators representing Greater Williamsburg.
- Class Debrief and Graduation: May 19, 2022.
- A class project that will require additional hours outside scheduled class meetings - anticipated to be 40-60 additional hours depending on the nature of the project
