PLEASE NOTE : All of our cats are adopted as strictly INDOOR-ONLY cats for their entire lives. If you adopt one of our cats, you will be required to keep the cat as a STRICTLY INDOOR CAT for their lifetime.

What happens now?

Completion of this questionnaire does not guarantee the adoption of a cat from Dog Rescue Newcastle (DRN).

This questionnaire is a tool designed to help us source the best possible forever homes for the dogs and cats that we rescue.

If your questionnaire is approved, then a ‘house check’ must be completed by a DRN volunteer who will report back to DRN. If the ‘house’ check is positive then you'll be invited to meet the cat. If your application is successful, the adoption fee must be paid in full prior to the release of the cat.

All DRN dogs and cats are subject to a two-week trial.

If you decide during the two-week trial that you do not want to keep the cat, then when you return the cat to DRN, the adoption fee - minus a $50 administration fee - is refunded.

If more than one application is received for a particular cat, then DRN will decide which application is the most suitable for the cat.

If the cat you apply for is adopted out to someone else, DRN volunteers can, upon request, try to recommend another suitable cat for you.
