-RICOH-
Ricoh devices support either the “Ricoh Embedded Software Architecture” (ESA) or the SmartSDK platform.
Please find out which model your Ricoh is and with which platform it is supported here
Device must support ESA SDK v2.x or SDK v4.x and later that have an LCD touch-screen. The Java card must be installed which is purchased from the Ricoh dealer.
USB Card Reader support is only available on devices running ESA SDK v4.x or higher.
SDK/J Type of devices
Ensure that the following points are checked off before getting started:
• You know which version of the SDK your MFD has and that it is version 2 or later.
• The Java VM card is installed. NOTE: This must be purchased and installed by a Ricoh technician.
• The MFD has a hard disk drive (HDD) installed. HDDs are not automatically included with some of the smaller MFDs.
• For MFDs with SDK 4 or later, when not using the Remote Operation Client for configuration, some system parameters must be configured NOTE: These settings can only be changed by a Ricoh Technician. We recommend getting them changed when the Java VM card is installed.
• For MFDs with SDK versions earlier than version 10, verify that the Other Function key is installed on the left of the Ricoh LCD screen, below the Copy/Facsimile keys. This key will activate the PaperCut embedded application and is usually installed by a Ricoh technician when the Java VM card is installed.
• You know whether or not the MFD has a Smart Operation Panel. These panels do not have function keys or a User Tools/Counter key. Instead, these functions are accessed from the Home screen
NOTE: If the MFD has a second-generation Smart Operation Panel, it will be able to run the PaperCut MF SmartSDK embedded application.
SmartSDK Type of Devices
Ensure that the supported Ricoh devices on the network are compatible with PaperCut’s embedded software solution PaperCut MF – Ricoh (SmartSDK):
• they are running Embedded Software Architecture (ESA) SmartSDK version 2.12 or above
• they have a second-generation Smart Operation Panel running Android, without any hard keys
Ensure that the following system requirements are met:
• The following entities are available:
o Physical device – administrator and user access, and credentials
o Device’s web interface – administrator access, URL, and credentials
o PaperCut MF Ricoh Remote Operation Client (i.e. ROC) – administrator access
o PaperCut MF Admin web interface – administrator access, URL, and credentials
• The networking/firewall configuration allows:
o Inbound connections to the PaperCut MF Application Server from the devices on the
configured ports. For example:
▪ 9191 (TCP/HTTP)
▪ 9192 (SSL/TLS/HTTPS)
o Inbound and outbound connections to and from the PaperCut MF Ricoh Remote Operation Client (ROC) on the following ports:
▪ 51443
▪ 80
▪ 443
Supported card readers are connected via USB ports on the device. However, the type, availability and location of these USB ports is device-dependent and could be:
• in a hidden pocket
• covered with a white cap
• visible on the rear panel
• visible on the front panel
While connecting supported card readers:
• only use the USB ports on the device’s front panel.
Note: USB ports on the device’s rear panel cannot be used to connect card readers.
