"Your Play's the Thing" (Saturday, July 17th from 9am-1pm)
In anticipation of the Playwriting Competition deadline, registration is open for “Your Play’s the Thing” playwriting workshop with Instructor Jack Miller. The Workshop will take place on Saturday, July 17th from 9am-1pm.
PRIOR TO THE WORKSHOP: Participants must submit a rough draft of their One Act Play by June 11th. This will give the instructor time to familiarize himself with your work so that he is prepared to offer guidance specific to your play. After you register, you will receive a confirmation email with details regarding how, when you are ready, you can submit your rough draft.
During the workshop, writers will benefit from vertical editing and valuable pre-submission feedback from the group along with a wealth of constructive input that will help transform your work into its best, contest-ready form.
Instructor, Jack Miller is a writer who has published a number of short stories and had two, original plays produced. He worked with playwright and actor Jason Miller (Pulitzer and Tony Award winning writer of That Championship Season; Father Damien Karras in The Exorcist ) and studied with playwright Milan Stitt (The Runner Stumbles) and script consultant Sid Stebel (Picnic at Hanging Rock ). He continues to write, act, and lead classes and workshops that encourage people to embrace and nurture their creativity.
