The Program
The Region II Chapter Relief Fund is in place to provide financial assistance to chapters and members that uphold the NSBE mission.
In keeping with the objective of the program, the Region II Finance Zone has established a policy to determine eligibility and awarding for the 2019-2020 term.
Carefully read the following policy and follow all procedures to ensure acceptance of the application.
NOTE: Where applicable, please use r2treasurer@nsbe.org for correspondence with the Regional Treasurer relating to the Chapter Relief Fund.
Eligibility Criteria
- Chapter must be chartered on NSBEconnect
- Chapter must be active within the region
- All members of the Chapter Executive Board (CEB) must be registered and paid members on NSBEconnect.
- To be considered, chapter must prove NSBE involvement by timely submissions of monthly reports by the Chapter Executive Officers (President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Programs Chair, and Secretary) to Regional Counterparts on a regular basis and in a timely manner.
- Priority will be given to those chapters that demonstrate exceptional involvement in NSBE (e.g. timely submission of monthly reports from CEO, program participation, volunteering at conferences, regional committee members, etc.), as accounted for by the Activeness Measurement Tool (please contact Region II Membership Chair, Ralinkae Kane-Jackson at r2membership@nsbe.org with questions about the AMT)
- Chapter Relief will be granted only once to the same chapter in one fiscal year (August 1st, 2019 – July 31st, 2020).
Procedure:
- Chapter Relief Fund Application
- The Chapter Treasurer or President must submit the following documents to the Region II Treasurer by Friday, January 24th 2020 at 11:59 PM EST
- Chapter Relief Fund Application
- A copy of the Chapter’s 2019 – 2020 working budget
- A copy of the Chapter’s 2019 – 2020 Corporate Partnership Packet (CPP)
- Any supporting documentation (optional or upon request from Region II Treasurer)
- Chapter Relief Fund Award Notification
- The Region II Treasurer will notify the Chapter Treasurer by February 7th, 2020 of the status (approval or disapproval) of the chapter’s request for chapter relief.
- If chapter relief is granted, it will be awarded as a fixed amount in the form of an e-deposit via Bill.com for Annual Convention.
NOTE: Chapters must adhere to ALL instructions and deadlines specified in this document to be considered for Chapter Relief. All decisions are final.
