  • Associated Builders & Contractors NH/VT 2025 Construction Industry Safety Awards Program

  • ABC Construction Industry Safety Awards Program recognizes commendable safety performance of individual firms.  The awards are intended to convey ABC's strong support of safety performance in full recognition of the fact that each firm has the responsibility for execution of safety and to ensure an overall safe workplace.

    DESCRIPTION

Annual safety awards are for the BEST and MOST IMPROVED safety records and MOST CREATIVE safety programs among "small" and "large" member firms in each of the following Standard Industrial Classicication (SIC) Code major groups, as well as Suppliers:

    • SIC 15- Building Construction
    • SIC 16- Heavy/Highway Contractors
    • SIC 17- Construction: Special Trade Contractors
    • SUPPLIER

There will be multiple categories for each group. The break between the "large" and "small" companies will be the median-size firm within each group, based on the hours worked submitted by award entrants.

    CRITERIA

The "Best" and "Most Improved" awards will be based upon an evaluation that will take a quantitative measure of safety performance to determine each entrant's incidence rate.  Entrants may contact the Chapter office to discuss the computation and to compare rates with industry averages.

Participation in the "Most Creative" safety program awards is optional.  The award will be based on a review of narratives submitted by the entrants.

All participants with "zero" lost time cases for 2023 will be awarded a Certificate of Recognition.
