This application form is for new students applying to Maga'låhen Hurao for SY 26-27.
Si Yu'os ma'åse' for your interest in Guåhan’s first CHamoru-medium immersion charter school. By completing this application, you are taking the first step toward joining Familian Hurao—a community dedicated to nurturing proud, knowledgeable stewards of CHamoru language, values, and heritage while preparing students to thrive as compassionate global citizens.

The CHamoru language faces extinction within two decades. Today, fluent speakers are primarily aged 60 and older. Maga’låhen Hurao exists to reverse this reality—creating a new generation of fluent speakers through immersion education where CHamoru is not just a subject, but the language of learning, play, and daily life.

*For pre-school, students must turn 3 by September 30th of the school year they are enrolling and be potty-trained upon enrollment. Any students born after this date will be subject to additional assessment to determine admission.

*For K5, students must turn 5 by September 30th of the school year they are enrolling and be potty-trained upon enrollment. Any students born after this date will be subject to additional assessment to determine admission.
STEPS TO ENROLL:

Please read the steps below carefully before completing this application.

Maga’låhen Hurao CHamoru Academy Charter School is a public charter school with limited space. Submitting this application does not guarantee admission, but ensures your child will be considered.

Step 1: Submit Your Application
Complete and submit this application during our Open Enrollment Period: February 26 – March 31, 2026

Step 2: Application Review
After the enrollment period closes, applications are reviewed and applicants are sorted by admission priority tier (siblings, employee children, CHamoru language background, general applicants).

Step 3: Lottery (If Needed)
If applications exceed available spaces for a grade level, a public lottery will be held. You will be notified of lottery details if applicable to your grade.

Step 4: Admission Decision
You will be notified via email of your admission status: accepted, waitlisted, or not placed. Waitlisted families remain in queue throughout the school year.

Step 5: Accept Your Slot
If accepted, you must confirm your enrollment by the deadline provided. Failure to respond by the deadline will result in forfeiture of your space.

Step 6: Complete Enrollment
Submit all required enrollment documents to our office by the deadline:
●      Completed enrollment forms
●      Official transcript and withdrawal form from previous school (for transfer students)
●      Proof of immunization / Health clearance
●      Signed Immersion Commitment Acknowledgment

Once enrollment is complete, you are officially part of our familia! You will receive information about orientation, school supplies, and important dates before the school year begins.
