Information:
Teams:
This tournament is played 8aside. Teams are mixed and can only have a maximum of six male players on the field at all times. Teams must have a minimum of two girls on the field at all times. All players must be on the registration form.
General Game Play:
Games are played in two 15-minute halves with a 2-minute break at half time.
The attacking team will have the ball for a set of 6 tags. The ball must be heeled after each tag. The ball must be passed twice before being tagged by a defensive player to retain possession. There are rolling substitutions during game play. Years 1/2 teams may have a coach on the field.
There is no tackling/running into players.
There is no fending or protecting/hiding tags.
Kick to start play at the start of game and after half time. Kick to restart will occur after a try is scored. The scoring team will kick to the non-scoring team. Any kicks during game play can only be done on the last tag. All kicks must be below waist height.
Teams need a minimum of 5 players to start the game. All players must be wearing appropriate activewear and footwear to play. Mouthguards are recommended but not compulsory. All tops must be tucked in.
Mini Rules will apply to Year 1/2 and Year 3/4 teams
Mod Rules will apply to Year 5/6 and Year 7/8 teams

Prizes:
Teams are able to win a prize at the end of the tournament by demonstrating our ACTIS values - Manaakitanga, Kotahitanga, and Rangatiratanga. Teams will be scored on demonstrating these values by ACTIS staff, volunteers and officials. Scored will be tallied and we will have ONE award per age group.
This is a participation-based tournament meaning that we do not have play offs or keep the score. Coaches are welcome to keep the score of their games if they wish. Emphasis is placed on sportsmanship, respect, teamwork and having fun.
Any spot or bonus prizes provided by ACTIS will be given on a first in first served basis
Draw:
The draw will be posted on the Aranui Tag Facebook Page every week.
Due to the limited number of weeks available for the tournament, teams are not guaranteed a match against all other registered teams. This tournament runs for 8 weeks.
Default/Cancellations:
Any cancellations of games will be sent to the main contact person via text and email. Any teams unable to make their game must advise Cheyenne as soon as possible.
Terms & Conditions:
ACTIS reserves the right of entry.
Any valuable items that are brought to the tournament are done at the owner’s risk.
As team manager I understand and give permission for appropriate photos and videos of our team to be taken and used for promotional and/or advertising for ACTIS including on social media and posters.
In the event of an accident or illness, ACTIS will have a first aid kit including ice packs on site. If any further qualified medical treatment is needed, it will be administered at the players/team’s expense.
As team manager I understand that all players, coaches/managers, and spectators present at the tournament must display mana enhancing behaviour towards all other teams, other spectators, officials and ACTIS staff. Inappropriate behaviour may result in being asked to leave the tournament/grounds.
All team members present at the tournament (including children and spectators) will be responsible for his/her/their behaviour and that any intentional damage to belongings or property may be charged to the player/team.
ACTIS will not be providing supervision for any children present. Parents/caregivers are responsible for any children they bring to the tournament.
As team manager, by agreeing to the terms and conditions set out by the Aranui Community Trust Incorporated Society (ACTIS) for the Aranui Tag Tournament, you are doing so on behalf of your entire registered team. If any teams require a copy of the Information/Terms & Conditions, they will be provided.
