  • Therapeutic Riding: Expression of Interest

    Please complete this form to apply for Therapeutic Riding sessions at Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club (ADEC). Our Therapeutic Riding programme offers mounted and unmounted equine-assisted activities, designed to support individuals with a wide range of physical, emotional, social, or cognitive challenges.

    About the Therapeutic Riding Programme

    Delivered by Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club in partnership with the Authority of Social Contribution - Ma'an and funded by Mubadala Foundation as founding partner, the Therapeutic Riding Programme is offered free of charge to eligible participants.

    The programme is designed for individuals who meet our eligibility criteria and whose needs can be safely supported through therapeutic riding. Places are limited and all applications are reviewed by our Therapeutic Riding team.

    Completing this form is an expression of interest and does not guarantee a place.

    Eligibility

    • This programme is open to People of Determination (POD), vulnerable children, and senior citizens (aged 60 years and above).
    • All Participants must hold a valid Emirates ID.
    • If applying as a Person of Determination, you will be asked to provide either a valid UAE-issued POD ID card or a clinical diagnosis document.
    • Minimum age: 6 years.
    • Maximum weight: 75kg (for the health and safety of both Participants and horses).

    Programme Details

    • Sessions run in 12-week terms, once a week.
    • The current term runs from 20 September to 12 December 2026.
    • You are welcome to join at any point during the term, right up until it ends.

    What You Will Need

    • Participant details: Full name, date of birth, gender, nationality, residential address, Emirates ID, and either a UAE-issued POD ID card or clinical diagnosis document (if applying as a Person of Determination).
    • Parent or Guardian details: If the Participant is under 18, you will need to provide the parent or guardian's contact information and relationship to the Participant.
    • Medical information: Please have details of any relevant medical conditions, medications, allergies, seizure history, and mobility considerations ready. Where applicable, you will be asked to upload a supporting AAI medical letter or report.
    • Emergency contacts: The name and phone number of two emergency contacts.
    • Signature: The Participant, or their parent or guardian if under 18, will be asked to sign the form digitally before submitting.

  • By signing this form, you confirm that you understand and agree to the following:

    1. Programme Eligibility
      Participation in the ADEC Therapeutic Riding Programme is subject to the participant meeting the Programme's eligibility criteria and being approved in accordance with ADEC's requirements and its partnership arrangements with Ma'an and Mubadala.
    2. Club Rules
      Participants, parents, guardians and accompanying persons must follow all applicable rules, policies and safety instructions of Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club (ADEC). For the purposes of this application a Participant is a person who has met the programme eligibility and has been approved to participate in accordance with part 1 above.
    3. Photography and Filming
      ADEC may take photographs, video or other recordings during Programme activities for communications, promotional and reporting purposes, including websites, social media and other publications.

      If you do not wish for you or the participant to be photographed or filmed, please inform ADEC. Your preference will be recorded and will not affect eligibility to participate in the programme.
    4. Communications
      You may receive Programme updates and other communications from ADEC. You may unsubscribe from marketing communications at any time.
    5. Rider Progression
      The Therapeutic Riding Instructor will determine the appropriate level of assistance for each rider. Progression from lead-rein or assisted riding to more independent riding will only occur when the Instructor considers it safe and appropriate.

    Horse Rider Agreement

    By signing this form, you also confirm that you understand and agree to the following:

    1. Risks of Horse Riding
      I understand that horse riding and equine activities involve inherent risks. Horses are animals and may move, behave or react unpredictably, regardless of a rider's experience or ability.
    2. Risk of Injury
      I understand that participation may involve falls, accidents or other injuries.
    3. Safety Instructions
      I agree that the participant will follow all safety instructions given by ADEC staff and instructors.
    4. Protective Equipment
      I understand that appropriate protective equipment helps reduce the risk and severity of injury. The participant must wear an approved riding helmet whenever mounted and any other protective equipment required by ADEC.
    5. Health and Participant Information
      I agree to provide complete and accurate information about the participant's health, physical abilities, relevant medical conditions, previous riding experience and any previous injuries or accidents that may affect their safe participation.

      I will inform ADEC if there is a material change to this information during the participant's enrolment in the Programme.
    6. Safe Participation
      I understand that ADEC and its Therapeutic Riding Instructors may modify, pause or stop an activity where they reasonably consider this necessary for the participant's health, wellbeing or safety, or the safety of others.
    7. Accuracy of Information
      I confirm that, to the best of my knowledge, the information provided in this application is complete and accurate.
    8. Parent, Guardian or Authorised Representative
      If I am signing on behalf of the participant, I confirm that I am their parent, legal guardian or otherwise legally authorised to provide consent on their behalf.
