The Dr. Earlean Gladney-Kirkland Memorial Academic Scholarship has been established to honor the life and legacy of Dr. Earlean Gladney-Kirkland, a devoted educator and community pillar whose professional life was dedicated to empowering student development through academic achievement. This scholarship aims to support rising college sophomores and juniors who demonstrate a commitment to academic achievement and community engagement. This scholarship is sponsored by UOO chapter member Katrina K. Wilson
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the Earlean Gladney Kirkland Memorial Academic Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Must be a rising college sophomore or junior, currently enrolled at an accredited four-year university or college.
- Must maintain a minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0 or better
- Must be enrolled full-time for the upcoming academic year.
- Applicants must be residents of Lexington or Richland County School Districts
- Submission of an official transcript, essay, letters of recommendation, and an appropriate headshot.
**Scholarship funds will be dispersed directly to the recipient's accredited university or college financial aid office. Funds must be used exclusively for tuition, fees, books, and on-campus room and board.**
