  • Christian Coaching Agreement & Informed Consent

Welcome to Abundant Life Center (ALC), a Christian coaching practice. This document is a formal agreement between you (the Client) and your Coach, outlining the terms of your coaching relationship with ALC. Our coaching practice is rooted in Christian principles, aiming to support you in your journey toward personal growth and spiritual well-being, guided by biblical truths.

This agreement establishes a clear understanding of the coaching process, the roles and responsibilities of both parties, and the expectations for your journey toward living the Abundant Life promised in John 10:10.

As a Client, you can expect a supportive and prayerful environment where your goals are prioritized and your unique needs are addressed in light of God’s Word. Our coaching sessions will focus on enhancing your self-awareness, fostering personal development, and guiding you toward fulfilling the purpose God has for your life. We encourage open communication and feedback throughout this process to ensure that your coaching experience is both meaningful and aligned with the Christian faith.

This Agreement constitutes a mutual understanding of the terms between you (the Client) and your Coach at Abundant Life Center.

    COACHING OVERVIEW

Coaching is a professional partnership that helps individuals achieve meaningful results in their personal and spiritual lives. The ALC Coach assists with matters related to Well-Being, also known as Soul Care, leading to a more abundant life (John 10:10). While our practice is Christian, we welcome non-Christians as well. If you do not agree with or are uncomfortable with our faith-based approach, you are free to discontinue coaching at any time.

Clarification - Coaching is NOT counseling, therapy, nor medical care. It does not diagnose, treat, or cure any mental health or medical condition. If you need medical, psychiatric, or emergency help, contact a licensed provider or emergency services. If you are thinking about harming yourself, call or text 988 (U.S.), or call 911 (or your local emergency number).

    WELL-BEING COACHING (SOUL CARE) SERVICES

This service focuses on Soul Care and Well-Being, supporting growth in your thoughts, choices, spiritual and emotional well-being. We assist in identifying and replacing untrue beliefs that distort your reality and sense of well-being. The Soul is the mind, will and emotions.

Our practice uncovers areas in your life where misconceptions exist and replaces them with the truth as outlined in the Word of God. We address cycles that manifest in life, reveal judgments, identify opportunities for deep forgiveness, and uncover unhealthy patterns. The primary goal is to help you overcome obstacles that may hinder you from living the life God intended, fostering a deeper connection to the Godhead and seeking Truth for reconciliation, restoration, emotional resilience, and growth.

While these services are primarily geared toward helping Christians, you are not required to share the same faith or religion as the Coach. After experiencing an Evaluation + Session, Clients can decide whether to continue, and you are encouraged to ask questions about your Coach's faith at any time.

WHAT CLIENTS WILL LEARN AND DO IN SESSIONS

Clients will learn to use prayer, forgiveness tools, and practical self-help tools through real-life scenarios. The goal is to equip you with the necessary tools for your journey. In sessions, you will:

    • Learn to silence the spiritual enemy and hear God’s voice, revealing your true identity in Christ.
    • Learn to identify, name, and respond wisely to emotions.
    • Learn practices to address past hurts and replace unhelpful thought patterns without minimizing what happened.
    • Explore how faith in Jesus can support restoration and emotional resilience.
    • Learn a simple and quick tool for deep forgiveness that is not dependent on others' actions.
    • Receive prayer at session start and a blessing spoken over you at session end.

All this will be done in a prayerful, safe, and non-judgmental environment, honoring God and aligning with biblical principles. Some clients report improved stress levels and overall well-being; however, results vary and no specific outcomes are promised.

ROLE OF SELF-EFT AND SELF-EMDR COACHES

Self-EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique, Tapping) - This technique helps individuals manage emotions and stress through emotional awareness and acupressure. Coaches provide guidance on using self-EFT techniques effectively, focusing on emotional regulation and self-care.

Self-EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) - This self-help technique is intended to support relaxation and emotional regulation when thinking about stressful memories. Coaches guide clients in using bilateral stimulation techniques to support focus, calm, and self-awareness.

Important Scope Notice - “Self‑EMDR” in this coaching context refers only to self-guided bilateral stimulation and resourcing exercises and is not EMDR psychotherapy. Any tapping or bilateral-stimulation exercises used in coaching are self-help/educational practices. The Coach does not provide psychotherapy, does not diagnose mental health conditions, and does not treat trauma-related disorders. If clinical care is needed or appropriate, the Coach may recommend referral to a licensed professional.

    Key Aspects of Coaching

    • Identifying Goals: Coaches help clients pinpoint specific life concerns, stressors, and patterns to focus on.
    • Session Structure: Coaches assist in creating a structured approach for Self-EFT and Self-EMDR sessions.
    • Equipping: Coaches provide tools and practices for managing emotional responses and building healthy habits, emphasizing self-care and recognizing when professional help is needed.
    • Scope of Practice: Coaches do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions.

CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES - As a Client, you are responsible for being open, honest, and actively participating in each session. This includes sharing your thoughts and feelings about the coaching process and providing constructive feedback on your progress.

EXPECTED RESULTS - Both you and your Coach acknowledge that the outcomes of coaching depend on your intentions, choices, and actions. Clients who commit to a minimum of 12 sessions significantly increase their chances of reaching their intended goals. Most clients find 18–24 sessions even more beneficial, particularly for those who have faced significant challenges.

You can expect your Coach to be gentle, honest, and direct, using various methods and prayerful guidance to help you move forward. You are encouraged to evaluate your own progress after each session and at the end of the program. If coaching is not meeting your needs, please inform your Coach immediately, whether in person, via email, or feedback form.

As with any human endeavor, coaching can involve feelings of discomfort, frustration, or fear that may accompany the process of change. It is at these milestones where a Client may experience the biggest breakthroughs if they choose to pursue continuation.

While coaching does not guarantee success, many Clients find significant growth and improvement through their commitment to the process.

SESSION STRUCTURE — IN EACH APPOINTMENT
You will choose the focus of our session based on your established goals. The Coach will listen, provide observations, ask questions, and guide you through a prayerful coaching and soul-care process of reflection and application. If you are unable to identify a topic for discussion, your Coach will assist you.

COACH REFERRALS - At times, the best way for the Coach to assist the Client may be to refer them to a professional or suggest seeking additional care that better meets the Client's needs.

APPOINTMENT SIGN-IN PROCEDURE - Please disregard any appointment email stating that you will be called at the appointment time. Instead, the Client should sign in to attend sessions via the provided Zoom Video Link at the scheduled time. Neither party may record the sessions, either audio or video, without express written consent. Zoom cloud/local recording is disabled by default; either party may take written notes.

For additional session preparation instructions, tips for maximizing your session, and the Zoom meeting link and Zoom App download, please visit:  https://abundantlifecoaches.com/sessions

APPOINTMENT TIMELINESS - To ensure a full session, please arrive on time or 5 minutes early. Arriving 10 minutes or more after the scheduled start time will be considered a no-show, and the Client will be charged the full session fee. If you arrive late (under 10 minutes), the session will still end at the scheduled end time.

CANCELLATIONS AND RESCHEDULING - To avoid being charged the full session fee, please cancel or reschedule your appointment at least 48 hours in advance. The Coach will make reasonable efforts to reschedule sessions in a timely manner or in the case of a genuine emergency. Repeated rescheduling is not permitted.

    PAYMENT, FEES, AND REFUNDS

Entering into a coaching relationship is a valuable investment in your personal and spiritual growth. This Agreement will commence on the date of signing.

Fees: Sessions are to be prepaid. Fees in effect at the time of booking are displayed during checkout.

Refunds: The Money-Back Guarantee applies only to the first Evaluation + Session. If you believe there was no meaningful improvement on the agreed target issue by the end of that session (and your Coach has not already indicated that a refund will be issued), you must request a refund in writing within 24 hours by emailing info@abundantlifecoaches.com. Refunds are limited to the amount paid for that first session and are issued to the original payment method (or by check, if necessary) within 14 business days. For details, see FAQs.

HEALTHY BOUNDARIES - To maintain healthy boundaries, the Coach is not available on an on-call basis. Because of the nature of the services, a warm connection may develop; however, the relationship remains professional, and the Coach is not a close friend, family member, or romantic interest.

BETWEEN-SESSION COMMUNICATION - Between sessions, communication is limited to scheduling and administrative matters only via [website or email]. Please refrain from sending emails, texts, or voicemails describing personal issues or requesting coaching support between appointments.

The Coach does not provide coaching support by email, text, or voicemail outside of scheduled sessions. If you would like additional support, you may request an additional appointment (subject to availability).

If you would like to be seen sooner, you may ask to be notified of the earliest available appointments, including any openings that may not yet be listed on the scheduling site.

INSIGHTS & FEEDBACK FORM - Completing the Insights & Feedback Form after each session is goodl for your self-reflection and growth. By signing this agreement, you agree to complete the form on the same day as the session. It takes only 5 minutes or less to complete. If you are uncomfortable with the online format, you may print and mail the form. Setting a reminder is advisable. If at any time you feel your coaching needs are not being met, please communicate this to your Coach for possible adjustments.

Any consultant is expected to keep this information confidential. The purpose of consultation is to gain added perspective and to help determine whether the Client may benefit from a referral to a licensed professional or a different approach.

Confidentiality may be breached only as required by law or to help prevent serious harm, including: (1) if the Coach has reasonable cause to suspect abuse or neglect of a child, elderly person, or disabled person, a report may be made to the appropriate authorities as required by law; and (2) if a Client poses an imminent risk of serious harm to self or others, appropriate protective actions may be taken. If feasible, the Coach will make every effort to discuss this with you before taking action.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION - If any dispute or claim arises between the Client and Abundant Life Center (ALC) or its representatives relating to services or this Agreement, the parties agree to pursue resolution in the following order: (1) good-faith direct negotiation; (2) mediation with a mediator acceptable to both parties; and (3) binding arbitration. Unless the parties agree otherwise in writing, mediation will follow the Christian conciliation/mediation rules of the Christian Conciliation Service (www.hispeace.org), and arbitration will be administered under the applicable rules and procedures of the American Arbitration Association. This Agreement shall be binding upon me, as well as my heirs and legal representatives.
