In registering as a 'Safe Space' in Ashford, your business is helping to create a more 'involved' community. 

The Safer Spaces scheme is intended to provide a network of venues where a threatened or distressed person knows that they can seek help or refuge; they may simply need a space in which to take five minutes whilst they collect their thoughts, or seek assistance with contacting a third party who is better placed to help them.

Where violence is threatened towards a vulnerable person, the only expectation is that you do what you can to offer that person an opportunity to hide from view, and that you contact emergency services on their behalf if needed or requested.

There is no expectation that your staff will intervene in an incident where their safety might be threatened.

Unfortunately, we cannot register your business as a 'Safe Place' on our Scheme at this time.

This is solely because we currently require scheme members to be able to make urgent contact with the Ashford Monitoring Centre via the Town Net radio; this is to try to ensure the safety of vulnerable persons and staff in the 'Safer Space'.
