After-School All-Stars Volunteer Form

Frequently Asked Questions
What are your volunteer hours?
Program-related volunteer opportunities are available on most school days between September and April. Hours vary based on location but typically range from 2:30 to 6:00 p.m.

How old must I Be to volunteer?
Our minimum volunteer age is 16. Volunteers who are 16 to 17 years old will need to be accompanied by an adult over the age of 18 and have a signed minor release form.

Will I have to complete a background check prior to volunteering?
No. The State of Nevada does not require adults who volunteer in public schools to be background checked and fingerprinted unless they are left unsupervised with students. As our volunteers are always supervised when working with students, we do not require our volunteers to go through the fingerprinting process. You can learn more about the law here.

What do volunteers wear?
Our volunteer dress code is as follows: closed-toed shoes, long pants or shorts at least mid-length to the knee, no tank tops or mid-drift tops, no clothing with obscene or controversial messaging, and maintaining a clean and professional appearance.

What events need volunteers?
We have several events that occur throughout the year that benefit from volunteers, including our All-Star Dodgeball.

Can I do my court-ordered community service at after-school all-stars las vegas?
Due to the nature of our program, we do not allow court-ordered community service volunteers.

In School Program (Adult Volunteer): Volunteering during program hours gives adults the opportunity to support students with homework and engage them in meaningful enrichment activities, while serving as positive role models and mentors.In School Program (Minor - 16-17 years old): This opportunity is ideal for high school students who enjoy working with younger children in a safe, structured, and supportive environment. While also earning volunteer hours for graduation.Company Group Volunteers: Partner with us to empower students by supporting homework hour, leading enrichment activities or participating in an exciting ASAS school event!Career Discussion: A career discussion allows professionals to share their story with students. Students develop ideas about how to achieve their career goals while engaging with role models.Dodgeball (First Saturday in March) 9:30 a.m.- 3:00 p.m.: From decorating to tear down and everything in between, our events wouldn’t happen without help from volunteers!
