BOOKING TERMS
ATP’s Student Matinee Series brings the excitement of live theatre to students from across Calgary and the surrounding area. We strive to assist teachers in integrating the arts into their curriculum by providing contemporary, relevant plays on the Martha Cohen Theatre stage.
Each Student Matinee includes:
- A daytime performance exclusive to students and educators
- Discounted tickets to a quality, Canadian world-premiere or well-known international work
- A 15-20 minute talkback after the show with the artists involved in the production
- Educational Resource PDF Booklet
- Timing: All student matinees begin promptly at 11:30am at the Martha Cohen Theatre in Arts Commons (north side): 215 8 Avenue SE, Calgary. Classes are asked to arrive by 11:15am to ensure the performance can begin and end as scheduled.
Timing for student matinees will change on a show-by-show basis and will be communicated by ATP staff as soon as that information becomes available.
When booking busses please WAIT until your application has been accepted. Performances can run anywhere from 75 minutes to 180 minutes.
Price: Tickets are $21 per student with a complimentary chaperone ticket at a 12:1 ratio
Subsidized tickets are available to schools that qualify as low-SES (per their respective school board). Please reach out to the ticket office for more information.
The audience advisory is a recommendation for the age/grade of the attendees. Final decision on attendance is at the discretion of the school or other booking party. We are available to discuss the reasoning behind our age recommendations, and can provide additional details, including a full script, in order to help you make a decision that best serves your students’ needs.
Once your application has been accepted, you will receive an invoice for a 20% non-refundable deposit which will be due within one week. Failure to make payment on time will place your class on the waiting list.
Final payment is due 4 weeks prior to the performance date – you will receive an updated invoice prior to this. Failure to make this payment on time may result in your class being removed from the registration entirely and your deposit will not be refunded.
In the event that Alberta Theatre Projects must cancel a performance, any payments made up to that date will be refunded in full.
