Saturday Morning Junior Competition (SMJ)

• TEAM (2 player) single gender yellow ball competition, under 18 (at date comp starts)
• Starts: 17 October 2026, Ends: 27 March 2027 (finals), no play after 1st Sat in Dec OR during school holidays.
• Start times: 8am (lower graded divs) & 10am (higher graded divs) - time depends on grading
• Grading: Set by comp secretary in consultation with Tennis Aust qualified coaches. HDTA records results to UTR but reserves the right to grade HDTA comps using our grading system.
• Format: 4 sets total - 1 doubles, 1 singles (each team member), final doubles set - 2 hours.
• Venues: Variety of courts across the Hills area - Siblings are given priority of locations. Venues are not a choice, you must play at any or all venues to play in this competition.
• NEW players & parents - Information night Thursday 15th Oct 7.30pm Castle Hill Centre

Anyone enrolled with a provider mentioned above is NOT required at grading.  We will obtain that information from your coach.

1. Risk Warning — Recreational Services (Civil Liability Act 2002 (NSW)

HDTA provides competition, squad, club championship, tournament, social play, and other tennis-related services, which are recreational activities. Participation in tennis carries inherent risks, including but not limited to:

• Collision with other players, the net post, fencing, or court furniture
• Being struck by a ball or racquet
• Slips, trips, or falls, including on wet, uneven, or damaged court surfaces
• Sprains, strains, fractures, and other injuries from sudden movement, overexertion, or repetitive play
• Heat-related illness during play in hot conditions
• Injury arising from equipment failure or misuse
• Injury caused by the acts or omissions of other players, coaches, or spectators

These risks exist even where HDTA and its officials, volunteers and contractors exercise reasonable care. This warning is given under the Civil Liability Act 2002 (NSW) so that you are aware of these risks before participating in any HDTA activity, competition, squad, social tennis, or court hire.

Photo & Media Consent

I consent to photographs/video of myself (or the registered minor) being taken at HDTA activities and used on HDTA's website, social media and marketing materials.  Refer to item 3. Photography, Video and Media Consent of HDTA Registration Terms & Conditions.

Publication On Website Draw Consent

I consent to my first name and last initial (or, for a registering minor, the minor's first name and last initial) being published on the public HDTA competition draw page, together with the mobile number provided at registration, for the purpose of arranging matches. The mobile number provided must belong to a person aged 18 or over. Where the registrant is a minor, the parent or guardian must provide their own mobile number for this purpose, not the minor's.
