Absence Policy
Athletes in competition squads are expected to maintain a minimum of 92% attendance across the season (September to July). This equates to a maximum of 4 weeks off during the competitive year.
â›” No absences are permitted during the 3-week period prior to any competition.
Unacceptable reasons for absence include:
- Minor illness (e.g. headaches, colds)
- Injuries not affecting participation
- Social events (birthdays, meals out, prom, sleepovers)
- College/university open evenings
- Non-graded school events
- The night before an exam.
Failure to meet the attendance requirement or absence during the 3-week pre-competition period may result in removal from upcoming competitions under our Red Zone Policy.
This includes loss of any fees already paid (e.g. athlete entry, spectator fees, uniforms, and monthly training fees).
Permitted Absences:
(These still count toward your 4 allowable absences per year.)
- Graded school exams/events that clash with training.
- Pre-planned holidays (declared by August before the season starts).
- Bereavement of an immediate family member or a funeral on the day of training
- Hospitalisation or emergency medical treatment
- Highly contagious illness (confirmed cases of flu, COVID, strep throat, pneumonia, meningitis, measles, RSV, or sickness with a fever over 38°C not controlled by medication).
📧 If any of the above occur within the 3-week pre-competition period, please notify us in writing at: coaches@vengeanceallstars.com
Please understand that exemptions from the 3-week rule are at the coaches’ discretion.
You may be asked to provide documentation (e.g. medical note, exam schedule, school confirmation).
NEW FOR 2025–2026: Family Holidays
We understand that family holidays often take place during school breaks. If a school holiday overlaps with a Red Zone period, the coaches will assess the situation and advise on a case-by-case basis.
🛫 Note: This applies only to official East/West Sussex school holidays (Monday to Sunday). It does not include inset or additional days.
If an athlete is absent for two consecutive regular night practices, during the Red Zone due to a holiday, they may be removed from that competition.
