  • Because successful applicants don’t receive their grant funds until June 1st and we do not fund retroactively, programming cannot begin before June 1st of the year of application. Planning and prep can begin as early as May 1st, but programming itself cannot start before Just 1st.

  • Evaluation is an important part of every community arts program. It teaches us about what went well, what could have gone better, how plans changed, and the impact the program had on participants and the community.

  • You must submit both a budget and workplan using the templates provided in order for your application to be eligible for review. Please download the templates from artreach.org/programgrant and attach them below.

    These files must be submitted in an .xls, .xlsx, .doc, or .docx format. We do not accept PDFs. You can export your budget in this format through Numbers, Excel, Google Sheets, etc. If you need any support in getting your files into this format, please email us at grants@artreach.org

  • SUPPLEMENTARY MATERIAL

  • Supplementary material is a required part of your ArtReach grant application. We want to learn more about you, your artistic practice, your experience in working with youth, and your history in community programming.


    Required:

    • A list of the confirmed and pending individuals, their roles for your program, and a short bio or resume or CV or LinkedIn page or website, etc. for each. This includes the team coordinating, delivering, and facilitating the program
    • Examples of past work that’s relevant to this program specifically
      • This could include media files (photo, video, audio, posters, a visual representation of the program) or a link to a website/ social media page
      • If you've been funded for this program before, we'd love to see it! (EG. photos, video, summary of evaluation outcomes, etc.)
      • If you don’t have past programming experience, please show us examples of your own artistic work

    Optional:

    • Letters of support (referees should be individuals not directly involved in the program, but who are familiar with your qualifications. This could include community leaders, donors, mentors, employers, past program participants, people you've mentored, etc.)

  • TAC ACCESSIBILITY GRANT

    Programs involving Deaf artists and artists with disabilities may now apply for an additional $5,000 Toronto Arts Council Accessibility grant to cover accessibility-related expenses after their grant has been approved by ArtReach. 

    Approved grantees can reach out to grants@artreach.org to discuss.

  • ArtReach programs involving Deaf artists and artists with disabilities may apply for an additional Toronto Arts Council grant to cover accessibility-related expenses.

     

    A TAC Accessibility grant will provide up to a maximum of $5,000 per program towards accessibility costs for artists incurred during the program. These funds may go towards supporting participating artists, which includes the team leading the program and program participants, but at this time, does not include audience members of showcases, events, etc.

     

    Accessibility costs include but are not limited to: ASL interpretation, audio description, closed captioning, communications assistants, attendant care, support workers, and equipment rentals or other supports required to meet artists’ accessibility needs.

  • The Toronto Arts Council acknowledges that there are a number of historically disadvantaged groups that face barriers to full participation in Canadian society and the national arts sector. You are encouraged to complete this voluntary self-identification form to help the Toronto Arts Council determine whether its programs and services are reaching a diverse and wide range of Toronto artists.

    The information that you provide in this form will not be shared with ArtReach's grant review team.
