Internship Type: Hybrid (primarily virtual with in-person events in the DC metro area)Duration: 8 weeks within June 1 – August 17 (flexible)Schedule: Full-time (35–40 hours/week for 8–10 weeks)Eligibility: Undergraduate and graduate students preferred. Strong fit for majors in Education, Public Policy, Social Work, Nonprofit Management, Public Health, Sociology, Communications, or related fields.Job Description: The Program Assistant Intern will help develop, refine, and document BY Funding’s community programs, including fundraisers, with a focus on family engagement and school-based initiatives. This intern will support program planning, outreach to potential fundraising partners, support grant applications, and provide light event support, attending approximately one in-person event every two weeks. The role offers meaningful experience in program design, fundraising support, and nonprofit operations within education equity and community-based work.Key Responsibilities:• Co-design and refine program models and fundraising initiatives for family and school engagement• Research and conduct outreach to potential fundraising partners and donors• Support grant research and assist with drafting grant applications and reports• Attend and support approximately one in-person community event every two weeks• Support reflection, documentation, and continuous improvement of programs• Assist with partner coordination and post-event debriefsWhat You Will Learn:• How to design and fund community-centered programs from concept to implementation• How fundraising and grant development support sustainable nonprofit programming• How nonprofits plan, pilot, and iterate programs based on feedback and impact data
