CALL FOR YOUNG ARTISTS

We are pleased to announce we are taking submissions for young artists to exhibit works at the Arts Canterbury Art Show at The Cashmere Club on the 14th-16th of August 2026.

This opportunity is open to any youth aged 10 - 18years old. Young artists do not need to be members of Arts Canterbury to submit their work for this exhibition.

We have two age categories:

10 - 14 years
15 - 18 years

(Age is calculated as of Friday, 14th August 2026.)

Entry fee is $5

As there will be prizes awarded at the opening night for each age category we encourage each artist to submit their BEST artwork.

There is no theme. All mediums and styles are welcome.

SUBMISSION INFO:
Submissions close midnight Friday 31st July.

Due to limited space entries will be accepted on a first received basis for this opportunity.

Artists will be notified by Monday 3rd of August if their submission has been accepted.

Payment instructions will be sent on confirmation of selection. Payment will be required by Friday 7th August. Entry fee is $5.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Artworks to be delivered to the Cashmere Club: Thursday 13th August between 4pm - 7pm
Official Opening: Friday 14th, 7pm - 9:30pm
Public viewing times: Saturday 15th, 10am - 6pm and Sunday 16th, 10am - 4pm
Collection of unsold artworks: Sunday 16th between 4:30pm - 5pm

Each young artist may submit ONE artwork.

2D artworks to be hung on a panel must be no larger than 500mmH x 500mmW including framing.
The submissions of 3D artworks is welcome and selected art will be displayed on a table or may be freestanding if works are larger.

Please upload a photo the artwork you will be submitting for selection. Image needs to be of good quality and at least 1mb in size. Please label the file as 'Artistname.Artworktitle.jpg'
