Two Rivers Gallery is pleased to launch the Artist Development Project. The project is aimed at emerging visual artists living and working within an approximately 325 km radius of Prince George. This includes the communities as far North as Chetwynd, and as far South as 100 Mile House, as far East as Valemount, and as far West as Burns Lake.
Artists are invited to submit a proposal describing a new or continuing body of work they aim to complete by the end of 2020. The successful applicant will receive an award totaling $1,000.00 to be paid in two installments: one around the time they are notified and the other after a mid-way progress update in accordance with the artist's proposed timeline.
This initiative is aimed at supporting work by artists whose have not previously exhibited in a formal gallery space (e.g. a public or commercial art gallery) as part of a curated solo exhibition. Previous exhibitions in cafés and other informal spaces are permitted.
In addition to a monetary award, the successful artist will be offered a studio visit with a member of Two Rivers Gallery’s curatorial staff and the opportunity to pitch an exhibition of their new or continuing body of work for Two Rivers Gallery’s Rustad Galleria.
