MEASURING SOLAR INSTALL VOLTAGES
1. Disconnect the solar panel wires from the regulator or the battery and leave them disconnected for the entire testing exercise.
2. Wait at least half an hour before the next step.
Solar Panel Voltage
3. Using a multi-meter or voltmeter measure the voltage at the solar panel and write this down.
Resting Battery Voltage
4. Now measure the voltage at the resting battery and write this down.
Active Battery Voltage
5. Now disconnect your motor wires from the control board and by connecting direct to the battery try to get the gate running and measure the voltage at the battery with the gate running. Write this down.
