  • Congratulations! This is the first step to finding your perfect pet. Thank you for choosing to adopt.

At BAWA, we care deeply about our rescued animals, so for us, adoption is just as much about matching the animal to the right people as it is about matching the person with an animal.

Adoption is permanent for the life of your pet after a two-week trial period. If you are not sure you can commit to caring for your adopted pet for their life, please consider fostering (short-term care).

All animals available for adoption from BAWA have been dewormed, vaccinated, and sterilised (if old enough).

If the adopted animal is not yet sterilised at the time of adoption, you must commit to sterilise the animal before the animal is six months old.

So we can get to know you better, please complete the application below so we can match you to your perfect pet!

Your responses to the questions help us get to know you better to find a great match.

Once you click the submit button at the bottom, one of our friendly adoption coordinators will get in touch with you soon.

    • PET ADOPTION AGREEMENT TERMS & CONDITIONS

      • My adopted pet will never live in a cage or on a chain. My pet will live in my home as a member of my family.
      • I will provide my adopted pet with shelter from inclement weather or intense sun as well as a comfortable resting area.
      • My adopted pet will always have access to clean, fresh water provided in a bowl. I will feed my adopted pet nutritious food at least twice a day. Puppies fare best being fed three small meals daily until about 4 months old, then fed twice daily.
      • I am responsible for all ongoing health, nutritional, and behavioral needs after the 2-week trial adoption period ends.
      • I agree to assume total financial responsibility for my pet once adopted.
      • I will establish a schedule of preventative medicine (i.e. vaccinations, deworming, flea/tick treatment) with a veterinarian.
      • I have discussed my adopted pet's known health and behavioural tendencies with a BAWA adoption coordinator. I understand that my adopted pet may have latent issues that develop while under my care.
      • I will seek immediate veterinary care if my pet becomes sick or injured.
      • If not already sterilized, I agree to spay/neuter my adopted pet before six months. Spay/neuter can be arranged with your adoption coordinator at BAWA upon an available appointment or with a vet of your choice and at your own expense. If you utilize a BAWA spay/neuter, there is no charge, though donations are greatly appreciated to keep the program running. Each animal sterilized with BAWA costs approximately 400,000 rupiah.
      • I will not sell, trade, or abandon my pet. If I move, my pet will move with me, and I will inform BAWA of my change in location.
      • If I can no longer care for my pet, it will be my responsibility to find a new home, and I will discuss the situation with BAWA.
      • I understand that BAWA will never give cash compensation for issues that may arise with my adopted pet for any reason.
      • I accept responsibility for my adopted pet should they injure another animal or human or cause property damage.
      • I will inform BAWA of any changes to my residence, contact number, or email address.

    • IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT RABIES

Rabies continues to exist Bali. BAWA urges adopters to be pre-vaccinated for rabies. The World Health Organization (WHO) standard for people is now two injections over a one-week period.

All animals should be rabies vaccinated when 3 months old. If the animal was rabies vaccinated younger than 3 months, then a second rabies vaccine is required either at 3 months of age or 1 month after the first rabies vaccines, whichever date is later.

When animals are vaccinated against rabies, it is still possible that exposure may have occurred prior to vaccination. IF an animal is incubating rabies, they may develop symptoms at any time. There is no reliable way to test live animals for rabies. For this reason, please be aware and vigilant about looking for possible signs of rabies in animals under your care.

Rabies is spread through animal bites or transfer of saliva from an infected animal to open wounds, into the eyes, nose or mouth.

Take care to avoid being bitten. Do not let animals lick you on the mouth, in the eyes, in the nose or allow saliva to come into contact with open wounds or broken skin.

The rabies virus does not always present the same symptoms in every animal. If you notice any behavior out of the ordinary, including any of the following, contact BAWA immediately.

      • Vicious biting for no reason
      • Paralysis
      • Difficulty swallowing
      • Barking with a strange sound
      • Drooping of the lower jaw
      • Foaming at the mouth
      • Seizures
      • Seeking dark places

In the event that you are bitten, and skin is broken, follow WHO protocols as follows:

Wash the wound for 15 minutes with soap and running water and apply betadine/iodine, then seek medical advice immediately.
