  • BC Women & Sport Leadership Award

    Trail-Rossland 2026 BC Winter Games
  • As part of hosting the BC Winter and BC Summer Games, there is an opportunity to recognize one outstanding community leader from the Host Community.

Through Sport BC and its members, BC Women & Sport (formerly ProMOTION Plus) strives to ensure gender equity is a standard throughout the provincial sport sector. The work of BC Women & Sport ensures girls and women have equal opportunities in physical activity and sport. It also helps all girls and women in BC have access to a complete range of opportunities, choices, and resources that lead to positive experiences in physical activity and competitive and recreational sport as participants and leaders.

  • General Criteria

  • The primary objective is to recognize a woman in sport and/or recreation who is a leader in the community, especially in the areas of mentoring and supporting girls or women in sport or who has created opportunities for girls and women. A secondary option would be to consider recognition of an organization or person (male or female) who is taking a leadership role to provide opportunities for girls and women in sport and recreation.

Primary consideration will be given to a nominee whose sport (the sport for which they are being recognized) is a sport in the BC Games (bcgames.org) or is a member of Sport BC (sportbc.com/members/).

Nominators are asked to focus on nominee's achievements over the most recent two years.

The nominee must be from Host Community.

Only one award will be presented.

Nominations must be submitted online using the application form.

The deadline for nominations is January 21, 2025.
