Cork City Marathon Mile Challenge
Cork Sports Partnership, in collaboration with Cork City Council and Cork City Marathon, are delighted to announce the launch of Run 4 All!
Following a successful pilot of an inclusive mile in the 2025 marathon event, Cork City Marathon will include an inclusive mile again this year for adults with disabilities or additional needs.
The Run 4 All programme aims to support participants to train for and complete this mile run on marathon day.
What is Run 4 All?
- Run 4 All is a six-week buddy training programme designed specifically for adults with disabilities, along with an adult family member or friend.
- The programme will support participants to train for the inclusive mile of Cork City Marathon.
- Participants train and take part in the marathon mile with an adult buddy, who can be a family member or friend.
- The programme will comprise of six in-person walk-to-jog sessions with a coach.
Is this Programme for Us?
- The programme is designed to include adults with disabilities or additional needs, encouraging them to take part in the marathon mile alongside an adult parent, guardian, sibling, or friend.
- Both participants should be able to walk at a brisk pace for 20 minutes prior to taking part.
- Both participants must be aged 18 and over.
- Both participants must be available to attend the six weekly training sessions and participate in the mile section of the marathon, see dates and times below.
Programme Information
- Dates: Starts Wednesday, April 15th, running every Wednesday until May 20th.
- Location: Tramore Valley Park
- Time: 7 - 7.45 pm
- Cork City Marathon Date: Sunday, May 31st.
What is Included?
- Weekly in-person group training sessions.
- A six week walk - to - jog training plan.
- Two registered spots in the inclusive section of the marathon.
- Each participant will receive a marathon medal, marathon t-shirt and marathon goody bag.
Please note:
- Both participants are required to attend the in-person training sessions.
- To ensure maximum enjoyment and safety for all, limited places are available on the programme.
