Sunshine Coast Wootha Prize 2025
Proudly sponsored by Sunshine Coast Council and hosted by Barung Landcare, the Sunshine Coast Wootha Prize is the feature exhibition at the Maleny Wood Expo.
The Sunshine Coast Wootha Prize is a highly competitive and prestigious woodworking competition, inviting submissions of works under three main catagories:
- Furniture
- Sculpture
- Tiny Treasures
These categories will be eligible to be considered for prize money under their respective categories, as well as the overall $10,000 Sunshine Coast Wootha Prize.
Application Categories
You may submit a maximum of 2 entries:
- 1 entry into Tiny Treasures
- 1 entry into either Furniture or Sculpture
Each entry requires a separate entry form and payment of the $35 entry fee.
Entry fee
There is a non-refundable entry fee of $35 per entry (plus 90c card processing fee) under all categories. The entry fee does not include entry into the Maleny Wood Expo.

The 2025 Sunshine Coast Wootha Prize is ‘Whimsy in Wood’ where creativity knows no bounds!
Inviting inspired entries that captivate and delight, and celebrate the spirit of imagination and playfulness under any of the eligible categories.
Join us as we journey into endless possibilities, where each piece tells a unique story and sparks joy, awe and wonder in every admirer.
From intricate carvings to fantastical furniture and tantalising Tiny Treasures, let your inner whimsy shine through in ways that transcend the ordinary, and spark inspiration.
Closing date
All entries must be received by midnight Friday March 8, 2025.
Entrants need to have all information provided with their application, there will be no follow-ups to confirm any gaps.
If information is not provided as per the application and Sunshine Coast Wootha Prize Guidelines, entrants will be jeopardising their entry proceeding to selection.
